About Me

Since earning my BM degrees in Music Performance and Recording Arts & Sciences from Peabody Conservatory in Music, I have completed additional studies in composition and songwriting. I have performed and recording extensively around New York City and in cities and college towns around the country. Lessons will involve music theory and ear training to develop students' instrumental understanding, and these concepts can be applied to other instruments that students may wish to learn in the future. Instrumental lessons will focus on prepared material, scales and etudes to aid in instrumental facility, and advanced techniques such as music memorization and stage presence. Songwriting lessons will involve study of harmony, melody, rhythm, and song structure, and students will be expected to write music and/or lyrics to bring into lessons, which we will examine together, and work on ideas for completing the song, or suggestions for improvement/originality. I help students develop their talents so that they may reach their potential as a musician and/or songwriter. My goal is to have students leave each lesson inspired and excited to prepare for our next lesson.

About Me

I'm a 27 year old graduate of Columbia University, where I studied International Relations with a pre-medical concentration. Having taken a variety of courses and standardized tests, I'm intimately aware of what it takes to succeed in academic settings. I'm currently working towards a Master's Degree in Women & Gender Studies. Subsequently, I plan to apply to medical school.

Regarding tutoring, I have four years of experience and have several references. I've tutored all ages (elementary school students - graduate students) and specialize in math/science subjects. I also have achieved success with my students regarding the SAT, ACT, MCAT, GRE, and LSAT exams. My students have gone on to attend Ivy League undergraduate as well as graduate institutions.

As far as expectations, I expect my students to just try their hardest. I assign homework after every session and am big on giving and receiving feedback. It's important to me to that the student and/or parent is completely satisfied with my tutoring.

At the end of the day, my first priority are my students and ensuring that they understand and are comfortable with the material in question. Not only will this help with their overall self-esteem, but they'll be armed with the skills to tackle their academic obstacles.

While I do have a 36-hour cancellation policy, I offer makeup classes and try to be flexible.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you surpass your academic goals.
