Zehara, is one of New England’s most creative and diverse dance instructors and performers. For ten years, Zehara has charmed audiences around New England, bringing with her, her unique brand of Fusion Belly Dance. During her tenure as a Belly Dance Artist, she performed in music videos, commercials, concerts, private and public events as well as appeared in numerous print and fashion photography projects. Zehara has appeared in Mexican singer Tamara Rodriguzes’ music video “Italian-O”, Absolut Vodka’s Apple Orient commercial, and in various print and magazine articles.

Finding the need to incorporate her love of world dance and ecstatic dance,, Zehara founded PRIMAL FUSION WORLD DANCE in 2012. Primal Fusion World Dance combines a mixture of Aboriginal, African and Middle Eastern dance to create a spirited dance course that helps students release, find healing catharsis and empower themselves through primal energy based movement and
meditation.

Paul started dancing when he was a pre-teen. He studied at Arthur Murray’s, Metro Dance Studio, Fred Astaire, Radler Hamby Ballroom Dance Studios, and Supershag. He has attended many coaching workshops and the Dance Teachers Club of Boston. He had competed with his partner Judy Silverstein in American Smooth and Rhythm and International Standard and Latin American dances. He is a certified member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston (DTCB), American Society of Teachers of Dance (ASTD) and National Dance Council of America (NDCA).

He has performed dance exhibitions as part of National Ballroom Dance Week, First Night Boston, New Year Needham and various nursing homes to help uplift the spirits of the residents.

He won the Most Versatile Dancer Contest at the Stardust Dance Weekend in the Catskills in New York, showing his knowledge and ability in 37 types of dance styles.

He has been teaching 5th & 6th graders Kids Ballroom Dancing as part of the Physical Education Program in the Cambridge Public Elementary Schools and in Ipswich for the past several years.

He has taught at the Needham YMCA, Medfield and Norwood Senior Centers and Ballroom Dances held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Norwood, MA.

About Me

Hello! I am a Reading Specialist with a Masters of Education from Lesley University and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I specialize in early literacy skills, phonics, phonemic awareness, and comprehension, and also work with students to improve fluency and vocabulary development. I have been professionally trained as a reading interventionist, working with students one-on-one or in small groups. I differentiate instruction for students of all abilities, and strive to provide my students with the right balance of challenge and support to help them reach their goals as readers. I have a strong passion for reading and literacy learning, and am very excited to pass this enthusiasm to my students!

As a published author in poetry anthologies, an online women's health magazine, and author of a successful blog, I also offer writing lessons for children and adults. My background in education and experience writing graduate level research analysis has developed my writing and editing skills, and I am ready to help my students reach their writing goals!

Each Reading and Writing student will receive individualized lesson plans guided by their areas of need and goals we set together. Progress will be monitored through reflective lesson plans and regular progress reports. Reading lessons include support in phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, and fluency, and foster love of quality literature and autonomy.

In addition to academic tutoring services, I also provide parent coaching, nanny training, learning and play space design, and general consultation services to parents and care givers. I have been working with children and families for 12 years, and feel confident that I can provide a high level of expertise, understanding, and enthusiasm necessary to support you and your family. For Early Childhood teachers, I offer training in curriculum design and space planning to support reading development, with a Reggio Emilia influence.

I am also available for dance coaching, with a focus on jazz, pom, drill, and kick. My background in dance includes eight years as a dance student, culminating in a year of leading and choreographing for a dance team. I have experience teaching young children routines, and background coaching dancers through regional and national competitions.

Finally I offer basic sewing lessons. I have been a hobby seamstress for four years, and enjoy drafting patterns for personal clothing and children's toys. I run a successful sewing blog, and have sold items to customers all over the globe.

I am a strong teacher with a diverse background who believes promoting inquiry and critical thinking. I am enthusiastic, hardworking, and flexible, and I look forward to hearing from you!

About Me

I am a recent graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges with B.A.'s in Dance and Arts in Education. I am also a certified teacher for Elementary and Special Education. I am currently teaching dance in two elementary schools in the Boston Area working with students in grades 1-6. I have been trained in multiple dance styles including modern, african, tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, and contemporary since the age of 3 and I have choreographed multiple pieces through my colleges dance department. I have taken class and performed across the county, as well as studied and performed with a South African choreographer in South Africa for six months. I love teaching dance and helping students explore movement and creativity through movement sequences, improvisation exercises, and composition activities.

I currently teach in the Theater Studies program at Yale, and have previously taught at Harvard, Brown, and Wesleyan. I have a PhD in Theater Studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a BA from Haverford College in English and Dance. I often teach writing courses, and have worked with many students on their essay writing skills. Before I started teaching in higher ed, I was a K-12 dance specialist in Seattle, and directed dance companies for high school students in Seattle and Madison, WI.
