About Me

I grew up in a musical family that believed it was important to learn at least one instrument. At first my mom signed me up for piano lessons which I took for several years. When I entered the sixth grade I also started in school band learning first the clarinet and later the oboe, although what I really wanted to learn was the saxophone. I played those instruments up until about high school. Then a friend of mine had a brother that had an old drum set and I would just make up stuff...horribly. Still I had a great time and eventually my friend's brother asked if I wanted to buy the kit from him. YES!!!!! That was my first drum set and it also started a switch into percussion in school band. That got me into taking drum lessons for the first time. After one year of taking drum lessons and being involved in school percussion I auditioned for the drumline in marching band and got in. About Me

I have been playing / studying the drum set for over 23 years. I have taken lessons from some of the best teachers on the West Coast and brought the best of their knowledge into my lessons. I have been teaching kids at the Rock School in Seattle for the last 10 years as well as teaching privately for ages 10 and up. Some of the groups I've played / recorded with are: Atma, Kiss Her For The Kid, Leanne Wilkins, Carrie Akre, and Stereo Sons.

About Me

Christian has been teaching privately for some time now from students of all ages and backgrounds. He is well versed in most styles: Jazz, Latin Jazz, Blues, Salsa, Rock, Funk, Punk, Metal, Acoustic, etc. So he is capable of playing anything. Often his students bring in songs that he's never heard or played before, and is able to teach them how to play them within minutes upon hearing them. Christian prides himself on being versatile and enabling each student to achieve their own goals and abilities.

About Me

I am the drummer & percussionist for Juno Award-winning, Canadian band, The Paperboys, touring regularly in Europe as well as the US and Canada. I make my home in the historic Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, where I teach drummers of all ages. A proud endorser of Istanbul Agop Cymbals and Protection Racket Drum Cases, I also perform regularly with several other local bands including Cordaviva, All-Night Yard Sale, and the Eli Rosenblatt Band. My passion lies in creating, performing, experiencing, and teaching music of all styles. My greatest influences have been traveling, going to concerts, and listening to a lot of records during college.

EDUCATION:
Growing up in Southern California, I began taking private drum lessons at age 8 and continued through high school.
