I strongly believe that, if every child would be provided with an ideal environment, would gain extraordinary ability. There are no exceptions. No one can tell how able man is by the nature. What is known is the ability that is spoiled or developed. It cannot be denied that most children speak their native languages beautifully by learning about 3000-4000 words by age 5 or 6. Nothing can clearer demonstrate of the original power of the human mind. Through the years of studying and teaching music I realized that this is the most important concept for developing each kid's talent, to increase his or her ability to the maximum. Therefore I am combining the great methods of teaching violin. The Suzuki method and the Russian school method. Suzuki method helps at the earliest stage of playing an instrument and I am using later Russian school method for more advanced period of studying.

Teaching is my passion and I thoroughly love what I am doing.
Every single child is special to me and every one receives special attention.
My students also play semiannual recital, witch helps them to gain confidence.

First, I need to talk to my students about their goals. Not only for the adult, teacher also need to know what kids want to know about music. They are interested in it sometimes, they just don't know. Second, I will let them know, interests is just the first step. If you want to learn, you have to pay! Pay your patient, and your endeavor. I will teach in some specific ways to motive students to approach the goals. for example: listen, singing, playing, reading is the process to make the students catch the goal faster without lost their interests! So involve more activities in the lessons is very important! Also, serious technique practice is necessary. As I mentioned before, not only interests, if you want to learn , you have to pay. Once you catch your goal, you will feel happy that the teacher has been pushed you for some boring finger exercise.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I do have a grand piano at home. For violin students, they should have their own instrument.

Mira W. Los Angeles, CA

Subjects Taught

English, History, Language, Piano, Reading, Viola, Violin

About Me

After twenty years of violin, viola and piano performance under the tutelage of instructors from the LA Opera, the Juilliard School, the Cincinnati Conservatory and other renown international establishments, I've come to see that music education is in itself a real art.

I began tutoring (and now teaching) in 2005, teaching my first music students in 2008. I see that success in an instrument lies in tapping into students' passions for motivation and incorporating mindfulness practice for improved concentration. I not only work to help students' musical abilities grow - I utilize this practice as a holistic system for improving discipline, creative capacity and self-esteem.

Though I graduated cum laude from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service rather than a music conservatory, I lead a professional chamber music group in the DC area and developed a strong familiarity with the temperaments of successful musicians and tricks to grow quickly. As an instructor in language and ethics in Los Angeles, I have worked with many different age groups and have a natural talent for motivating students' best work.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons begin with a mindfulness activity and discussion, checking in with the student's attitudes towards practicing and their preferences in study. I utilize the Suzuki books and Alfred Music, combined with educational techniques developed by the great pianists and violinists of the past like Sergei Rachmaninov, Yehudi Menuhin, and William Primrose. We spend a short period dedicating to listening and improving theory, and then move forward into repertoire with the input of the student.

Advanced (4+ years of study)
