I attained a degree in education from Truman State Universtiy in order to have something to fall back on. Through touring the world and recording with a variety of artists I discovered that teaching was something that I was much more passionate about than even I could have guessed. I've been lucky to study with amazing instructors at North Texas State University and Berklee College of Music. These teachers taught me that it's improtant to see each student as an individual and to approach their learning process as unique. The 20 plus years of teaching I've done has shown me that the joy I feel being onstage playing is equal to that experienced by my students when they realize that they can achieve their goals as well.

I attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston, and I have a BA in Music. I am a working pro musician, regularly playing all different kinds of gigs with different bands, as well as solo, and regular gigs on TV. I have taught music lessons, and guitar in particular, for 17 years. I play all styles, but my favorites are Rock, R&B, Country, Rockabilly, and Blues (I also enjoy playing jazz, classical, and other styles as well). My main instruments are guitar (electric and acoustic) and voice, but I play keyboards, bass, mandolin, and drums also.

I am a professional drummer/drum instructor who moved to LA from Nebraska to follow my dreams in music. I went to the University of Nebraska for Music Education. I also studied privately under world renown drummers, such as Dana Murray, Roy McCurdy, and Russ Miller. Through these excellent teachers, I was motivated to practice hard in order to accomplish my goals. I also developed great teaching skills and learned how to successfully motivate my own students. I have performed with many great players such as Buddy Guy, Nicholas Payton, Mato Nanji, Darryl White, and many more. These acts have given me the opportunity to tour the US and Europe to do what I love. With my instruction, you can do it too!

As I had started to play the bass when i was 13 I quickly became a musical sponge and ceased every opportunity I had to play music every day. I played in garage bands with my friends and even jazz gigs with my father's co-workers. I spent a solid 5 years playing with as many local musicians as I could in my small Alaskan town. By 18 I had attended two years in the University's music Academy and been promoted to a mentor position.
A year later I decided to pursue my music career in Los Angeles and educate myself at a Bachelor level at Musicians Institute. After 3 years of intense study and graduation I have played with many artists who have had songs placed on TV and film, recorded with grammy-award winning names, and constantly on call for around the city.
I am very excited to be a part of this team so I can spread my knowledge, work with up and coming talent, and grow along with the students I will teach.
