My name is Brian. I've been a professional musician and educator for over 20 years teaching both guitar and bass. I've been fortunate enough to play with (and learned from) some of the finest musicians around, and I look forward to sharing that knowledge with you. My goal as a teacher is to help you get to where you want to be in the shortest amount of time possible.

My name is Chris and I am a professional guitar player. I have been teaching for about four years now and sharing the joy of music with others has become a passion of mine.
I started playing the piano at the age of five, the trumpet at nine and the guitar at thirteen. Over the years I have also learned to play the drums, bass, harmonica as well as how to sing! I studied at L.A. Music Academy as well as Musicians Institute. I currently am recording my debut solo album and recently played the National Anthem for a profession football team!

I started learning to play the guitar when I was 8 years old. There have been studies that have shown that learning to play a musical instrument helps with the development of the brain such as memory capacity, coordination, mathematical comprehension, and reading comprehension, just to name a few. This has been very evident in my life and learning to play a musical instrument has benefited me so much more than just as an academic student.

I have a bachelor of arts in music with an emphasis in guitar performance from Azusa Pacific University, whichI received in 2004. While guitar performance was my primary field of study, I also studied vocal training and sang in APU's Men's Choral, University Choir & Orchestra, and Oratorio Choir. While singing and studying guitar performance, I also excelled in music theory.

I have over 20 years of experience and I believe that I can help bring out the natural musician in you!

I grew up in Quebec City Canada, where I only spoke French during those growing years. From a very young age, I was always attracted to music and particularly playing drums. My mom has told me that before I could even walk, I was already banging away on whatever I could put my hands on. I would sit down with pots, pans, and spoons and bang away. My parents bought my first “real” drum kit when I was about five years old. It was a Mickey Mouse drum set that they ordered from the Sears catalog. I was ecstatic. Unfortunately, because of the poor quality of the drum, this particular kit only lasted a couple months, but it was on that very drum kit that I gave my first live performance. The concert took place in the basement of my house. This memorable concert included one song, a French version of California dreaming, with me on drums, my brother on guitar and my sister as a singer. The crowd (one uncle and our mom) loved it and saw the potential in what could be a career someday!...

I am a guitarist residing in the greater Los Angeles area who performs in the ambient, folk, and Celtic genres. My influences in these genres are Leo Kottke, Antoine Dufour, Andy McKee, Laurence Juber and others.

With over ten years of experience, I have become a distinguished and reputed artist on the West Coast. In February 2010, I performed with Thomas Dolby and string quartet Ethel in opening the TED2010 conference, an annual gathering of paramount figures in technology, entertainment and design. My performance there earned accolades from several attendees, including an invitation to perform at a San Francisco TEDx event in Summer 2010. Way back in the way back machine, I performed on the Kevin and Bean Show on KROQ 106.7 FM.

I have been teaching group and private lessons for about 30 years now. I've been a contract teacher for The City Of Chino Hills for about 10 years, and have taught for the cities of Chino, Diamond Bar and Walnut as well.

I started my teaching business, LearnGuitare around 2006 and teach group and private lessons at its studio in Chino, CA.

I have performed since the late 70s in many bands and have met an played with a lot of good musicians. In the 80s, we were part of the scene that rocked the Sunset Strip and all over Southern California. Today, I perform with my wife in our Pat Benatar tribute band, HeartBreaker which was founded in 1999. We have performed many concerts since then, and have performed in front of thousands! We have performed in Japan for our naval troops, Canada, Arizona, Las Vegas as well as many California Casinos, Concerts In The Park and other venues.

I have over 15 years of playing and songwriting experience, and have over 10 years of recording, performing, and teaching experience. Introducing people to new techniques and musical ideas is always rewarding to me because it reminds me of the magic I have felt when learning a new way to further my musical ability. I have written, recorded and performed original material as well as cover songs both in various groups and by myself on multiple instruments. I have often been the first person people would call when they needed a short notice fill-in musician to perform with their group, both for short term and long term.

I have played guitar since age 14 and now hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music with an emphasis in guitar from the University of La Verne in Southern California.
My musical range on the guitar covers several styles including classical, flamenco, rock, blues and Jazz. My influences include guitarist and close friend Michael Christensen, guitar teacher Anthony Titus, classical guitarist Paul Henry and professor Michael Ryan.
While I maintained my focus on perfecting my skills with guitar professor Michael Ryan at the University of La Verne, I demonstrated a passion for music education in my role as Ryan's teaching assistant and later as a guitar teacher at local area high schools.
Having completed my undergraduate degree with honors, I am currently in the Master of Education program at my alma mater. Music is my life. I love music and all of its aspects and I love to teach it. The number one thing about me is that I'm patient. I have taught many students of many different age groups and with much success. My main instrument is voice and I can teach all types of singing: musical theater, pop, jazz, classical, and opera. In addition I can teach up to intermediate level piano and guitar. I can teach all the major and minor scales, chords, and progressions in addition to different types of music. I can also teach beginning drums and intermediate marching percussion.

Welcome to TakeLessons.com... My name is Vai and I am extremely passionate about educating the world in music. I have been trained in music since the age of 7 when I learned to play classical piano. I began singing at a very young age in church and school. At the age of 17 I received proper vocal training for the first time at the California State University, San Bernardino. In the Spring of 2011 I completed my BA in Music from CSUSB. I believe in sharing the gift of music with as many souls as possible.

Over 25 years experience as a guitarist, bassist, performer, songwriter and teacher. I specialize in Rock, Blues, Country, Pop, Metal, Jazz styles on guitar and bass.
