A native of the Pacific Northwest, saxophonist Kareem K is a performer, composer, and educator, who is in high demand for his talents both on and off the stage.

Growing up in the northwest with its vibrant music scene allowed Kareem the opportunity to study with, listen to and perform with world class jazz artists residing in the area. Artists such as Tracy Knoop, Jay Thomas, Don Lanphere, Bill Ramsay, Hadley Caliman, Julian Priester and many others had a large impact on Kareem early in his musical education. This direction and guidance continues to inspire and lead Kareem as he continues his lifelong passion undertaking a career as a professional musician.

I'm a professional composer, teacher, and pianist - and I like to keep active doing all three throughout my community. My piano and composition lessons are very in-depth, but also very flexible. Because of my thorough knowledge and experience with music, I can teach all ages, skill levels, and an array of important subjects - including piano, ear-training, music theory, improvisation, composition, creativity, music history, ethnomusicology, and percussion. Pianist, Rian D., holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Washington State University where he graduated at the top of his class. During his time at WSU he was a recipient of the prestigious Presser Scholarship, which is awarded to college students based on academic merit and performance experience. He also placed in numerous local and regional piano and chamber music competitions, including finishing as a finalist in the Washington-Idaho Symphony Young Artist Competition and performing as a soloist with the orchestra.

Sharing the joy of music has been Renata's passion since childhood. She began studying piano at the age of 4 and has been performing since the age of 6. After graduating from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, Renata began teaching. She continued teaching, performing and accompanying while completing her Bachelor of Music from University of Toronto and her Masters of Music from Texas A&M, Commerce.

Renata has received numerous awards in solo and duo piano competitions. Her performances include solo and duo piano, chamber music and symphony orchestras, choirs and with vocalists and instrumentalists.

My name is Zarni and I am a recent graduate from the Berklee College of Music with a Bachelors in Music Education and Songwriting. During my time at Berklee I received two scholarships, The Korg Endowed for Early Childhood Education and the Scott Benson Scholarship, the highest award given for Songwriting. Most recently I won Most Promising Music Educator Award in the Choral department, an award given by the Dean of the Berklee College of Music.

I have taught in several different environments. I taught for two years at the West End Boys and Girls Club (an after school program for teens ages 10-18) as a vocal and piano teacher. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Contemporary Vocal Performance at the University of Colorado Denver in 2009. I graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors) and won the Outstanding Graduate award from the College of Arts & Media. I even sang the National Anthem at my own graduation, in front of thousands of other graduates and their families, an honor usually reserved for faculty.

While earning my degree, I specialized in singing, songwriting and the recording arts. I also professionally competed in an honors a cappella group. One unique thing about me is that I've have experience in MANY different musical situations ranging from performance and education to arranging, band leading, touring, recording, and writing. I began as a punk rocker as so many people my age did. Learning the songs of the bands I listened to. I have loved music as long as I can remember. I know its cliché to say so, but it's true! :)

For me, having parents of different ethnicities and siblings that were much older than me, I was heavily impacted by the wide variety of music to which my family members listened. The force of this crayon box of rhythms and sounds captivated and affected me so much that it is the key experience that I draw from in making my own music today.

I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska (a small town in the center of the state) so my only option for entertainment and fun was getting involved in the arts! I started performing at a very young age as both a dancer and a musician. I studied classical ballet, modern dance, hip hop and street dance, and world dance traditions throughout my formative years, which helped me to gain rhythmical fluency. I've been exploring music since age 13 when I started with bass and guitar. I've gigged around the Puget Sound area with different types of bands, playing classic-rock styles, blues, big band, r&b, punk rock, reggae/ska/rocksteady and experimental/alternative styles. I've played in numerous college ensembles. Performance and songwriting are my school-related focus now, and I've developed a songwriting and vocal presence in the last two years. With nine years as a music student and five years as a private lessons teacher I've collected techniques and tips that help students achieve a strong supported presence with their instrument. I continually put myself in both teaching and learning environments. I currently attend college private lessons for voice and composition.

I was classically trained from ages 6-16, while teaching myself guitar, drums, songwriting, and vocals on the side. Learning about the "why" and "how" behind the piano (i.e. Music Theory) while I was in college brought about the musical freedom I am so passionate about showing students. In addition, learning drums by imitation and by ear really rounded out my piano training, which is why I use more than just a single "method" or only teaching the student how to read music well.
