I am an award-winning composer. I write for solo piano, instrumental ensemble with and without vocals, choir, and orchestra. I've produced produced five CDs of original music and two books of music, one a compilation of piano solos and the other a book of teaching pieces for piano. Big inspirations are nature, spiritual philosophy, and my students.

I teach in Portland, Oregon. I also present workshops around the country for teachers about teaching composition and notation to beginning music students, a method which helps develop creative skills and makes music theory relevant. I also direct "Create Your Own Musical" workshops for children.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Music from Sonoma State University where Istudied piano with Marilyn Thompson and composition with Will Johnson. I also studied composition and music theory at New England Conservatory.

Chuck recently moved to Portland, Oregon from Gainesville, Florida, where he was a staple of the music teaching and performing community for more than 25 years. Originally from Chicago, Chuck completed his BA in Music History and Masters of Music (MM) at the University of Florida. Chuck became obsessed with The Beatles when he began piano lessons at age 12. His first attempt at composing was actually improvising melodies over the ending chords to "Hey Jude". Along with playing Beatles tunes Chuck learned classic standards from a set of Reader's Digest Songbooks inherited from his grandmother.

Chuck has performed with classic rock, top 40, funk, R&B, and jazz groups, and has served as an opening act for Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and legendary Texas bluesman Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. I have played violin for 15 years. I can teach you to read music notation, lead sheets. I am knowledgeable in music theory and can help you develop an understanding of tonality, rhythm, melody, and harmony that will help you make any type of music. I can help you apply concepts from theory to improve your songwriting and arrangement ideas. I also offer coaching in improvisation and solo construction for any instrument.

In addition to playing violin, I have spent the last 2 years as bandleader and songwriter for Jon. For this project I write and score for Voice, Violin, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Choir, and String Orchestra

Mark holds a Master of Music from the University of Missouri. He teaches piano, voice, violin, and composition. His students range from pre-schoolers to adults and include all skill levels, from beginner to professional. Mark is a faculty member at the Community Music Center and Multnomah Arts Center where we directs the choirs. He is also an Associate Conductor with the Pacific Youth Choir where we directs the boys choir.
In addition to teaching, Mark is actively involved in Portland's classical music scene. He sings with the Portland Symphonic Choir, Oregon Symphony, and as the tenor soloist at the First United Methodist Church.

-I am a self-taught guitarist and a schooled musician. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance.
-I have been teaching guitar lessons for over 15 years.
-I've been in original rock bands for over 15 years and toured the country performing my original music.
-I have had beginner students go on to release albums on iTunes and tour the country with their original music.

I have toured the country, opened up for large acts(Art Alexakis of Everclear, Ron Sexsmith), I currently play in professional symphonies(Columbia and Vancouver Symphony), write music for documentaries and commercials, and am finishing my degree in Percussion Performance at PSU. In addition to this experience, I have studied with drummers Gary Hobbs(Stan Kenton), and Sean Wagner (Cherry Poppin' Daddies"). I have been teaching privately for about 15 years now, and have students that have gone on to do amazing things in music!! Every bit of this experience is at your disposal when you come into your lessons!

I started teaching music lessons at the age of eleven, in after school programs. I continued to do this for many years, driving to neighboring towns, volunteering at youth groups and local Boys and Girls Clubs.

I went on to study Music Education at Oregon State University and Guitar Performance at the University of Oregon. At each of these Universities I taught students my age, and a few professors, as well as locals in each town.

I continue to teach in Portland, and volunteer at two recording studios around town. I can and will provide references to each new student upon request.
