My name is Taylor, I have been a guitar player for 10 years and music is my passion. I have a great deal of knowledge about the guitar and wide range of playing styles as well as an understanding of many different genres. I have an history of accomplishments in music throughout my academic career and a great deal of experience as an instructor.

I strive to make my lessons fun and exciting for students. I have a proven method of teaching and my biggest goal is to get my students to love the guitar. If you love music and you love your instrument then there is no stopping you! You will succeed.

I am a Piano/keyboard teacher with 40+ years experience. I can take a beginner all the way through to advanced, professional level. I started my own music education at the age of 5 and have loved music ever since. I started my teaching career at the age of 14 and have helped many children develop their careers in music, becoming music teachers, or ministers of music in churches. I taught music lessons privately and in groups at Northwest University in WA state, Family Music Store, Southern NV Music Store, in Las Vegas, in my own home, and in the students home. I teach any style of music from classical to gospel. I have a strong classical background so I enjoy teaching all my students, even as young as 4 to play Fur Elise by Beethoven. Since my father was a minister all my life, and I started playing the piano for church at the age of 10, I also enjoy teaching those interested in church music either traditional or contemporary style of music. All of my past experiences lead into my real passion: Teaching. Whether it's conducting throughout Europe or singing as featured soloist with the Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra and Oregon Symphony, I use past experience to teach students about musical and healthy singing techniques. I am currently a Doctoral candidate at UNLV. I am excited to incorporate new instructional techniques into my teaching that I learned from conventions and coursework.

Most of all, I believe that singing should be a fun expression of yourself. It should be an outlet for creation no matter the skill or age level of the singer.

I hold a Master of Education degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where I specialized in Secondary Vocal Music. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting) from Oregon State University. I am an active choral director and singer in the Las Vegas Valley and sing opera semi-professionally.

I just turned 49, and have been playing electric bass and guitar since I was 14. I graduated from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 1985 with a Bachelors degree in classical guitar, and have been teaching guitar and electric bass for over 25 years. I'm an eclectic player who has studied and integrated many concepts from varying styles including classical, flamenco, jazz, blues, and rock, and I've developed a unique and highly effective teaching method that draws from and build upon the CAGED system and other established successful methods. My approach to teaching emphasizes simultaneously learning musical concepts, knowledge and skills, and is a highly analytical approach that stresses simplifying, understanding, and mastering "the basics" of musical and instrument-specific knowledge and skills.
