About Me

Music has been my passion since childhood. Having learned at an early age the benefits of music in all areas of life, I want to encourage you to give me an opportunity to impart the knowledge, skills, techniques and passion that has driven me to share this with the world. I am a trained classical pianist and have studied with the best. I have been teaching for years and look forward to spending time with you as you grow in your love for music too! I am an independent recording artist who loves to perform, write and produce good music.

French Horn, Music Theory, Piano

About Me

I am studying for my D.M. degree in Music Composition at Florida State. I have been playing piano since I was 4 and French horn since I was 12. My compositions have been performed by the USF Percussion Ensemble, members of the Greater Cleveland Flute Society and my electroacoustic works have been selected for festival such as Soundcrawl and the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival. In 2012 I was a recipient of an ASCAP Plus award. Whenever I teach, whether it be piano, horn, theory, or composition my goal is always to make you the best musician you can be. Not necessarily the best performer, but the best musician. The things you will learn from me will be the things that will transcend a particular instrument and will transfer to any part of musical life your path takes you.

About Me

I started piano lessons at five years old. My dad was my first teacher. During middle school and high school I continued with other teachers. Music became very important during my years at college, consequently, at the University of Minnesota I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education; in graduate school I earned a Master of Science in Music Education at the University of Illinois and finally, I earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at the University of Miami.

*** Lesson Details ***
I establish a good rapport with my students in order for the class to be enjoyable. It is very important to emphasize hand position and posture with beginners. New lessons are assigned each week. There are lessons that build technique and others that are based on familiar songs or easy songs for beginners.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons are taught on an electronic keyboard.

*** Specialties ***
My specialty is teaching beginners and organizing piano recitals as a means of building confidence and enthusiasm.
