This Teacher has Great knowledge

I have been taking lessons with Jefferey R. for a lil over a month now and i must say when i first scheduled the lesson i was skeptical of how the lesson would go. but after working with him i have to say he is very skilled in vocal training. He has helped me explore what my voice can do, is teaching me the fundamentals and what it takes to sing on a professional level. If any student is serious about improving their vocal skills and moving to the next level... i would refer them to Jefferey R.
Kyle K. Cleveland, OH

I've played on countless stages with orchestras, ensembles and bands. I can show you what it takes to get it done and be ready.

About Kyle

I love music! To me, it's a way of life. From listening to playing to writing and of course teaching. I grew up with music at school and home. My dad was a piano player and teacher so music has been a part of my life since day one and I want to share what I have learned. Everyone has a unique musical talent and I enjoy helping them find it. I believe that anyone can be an excellent musician. Playing an instrument should be a fun and creative adventure. Whether it's strumming at home, playing out in the clubs, or writing the next big hit, I will do my best to get you there!

My musical life began when I was in 5th grade and my dad bought me a saxophone, which I played for over 10 years. I quickly learned how fast I could improve if I simply kept playing. When I hit my ...

Kyle is a fantastic guitar teacher! He takes the time to show you how to play guitar with good fundamentals, and teaches you a little bit of music theory along the way without making it complicated. I tried learning on my own using online TABs and Youtube videos and a game called Rocksmith. This was a good start, but eventually I hit a wall and wasn’t really progressing. Kyle has really helped me develop my skills. We went over all the basics like how to hold a pick, how to hold the guitar, how to play single notes vs. chords, palm muting and alternate picking. I was missing all of this technique before and I was actually making playing the guitar more difficult than it needed to be! Kyle explained it all in a very easy to understand way and gives you as much detail as you need. I like lots of detail, so we went over everything! He knows a lot of little tips and tricks from playing as long as he has and this is the kind of priceless information you can't get elsewhere. He's very easy to talk to and has a breadth of knowledge on all kinds of music. We normally geek out about anything from Jimi Hendrix to 90’s music to more modern music and everything in between. I can’t say enough about how knowledgeable he is – highly recommended!

Daniel C. Cleveland, OH

Master of live performance, 25 years experience.
Learn all requisite skills and the understanding to combine them into audio/visual performance.

About Daniel

I am recent graduate of Music Composition and Theory from Antioch College, and I am a veteran of many bands, having performed in some of the largest venues around the country.

I favor a 'learning through experience' instruction style where my students can gain an in-depth understanding of music through the practice of their instrument. My students will quickly and simply learn the essentials of music theory, an understanding of what musical concepts are right for each situation and why, and the ability to compose and improvise musically while they are gaining the technical abilities and skills to flawlessly perform on their instrument.

Instructor is very good and easy to work with. I seem to be making progress (slowly). However, I found an "app" called ultimate guitar chords that give fingering for all notes and lets you hear alternate (simpler) fingering to test how it would sound.Depending on how that comes out will may change my plans to continue with lessons after the first four.

Sooji L. Cleveland, OH

I'm a piano major student at the Cleveland Institute of Music and was a student teacher at the Victoria Conservatory for three years. I performed at many piano competitions and won countless awards. I am teaching many students and they are enjoying my piano lessons because I'm really experienced and patient. I love working with different ages of people. I sometimes hold solo recitals in South Korea and Canada.

About Sooji

Hello, my name is Sooji L. I'm from Seoul, South Korea.

At the Victoria Conservatory of Music, when teachers were away, I helped their students with technical difficulties, musicianship, and basic music theory. I helped them to get higher grades, and some of them got distinction, which is the grade above 90%. I also helped them to win prices in piano competitions.

I was frequently asked to perform at the "Saturday noon concerts" in which I played variety of works for the audience. I had several solo recitals. In addition to being a solo performer, I was a member of "The Collegium," which is a chamber group responsible for raising gifted musicians. Moreover, I was often asked to perform at the Greater Victoria Performing Art Festival's honor's ...

I work to improve understanding of a variety of musical and performance styles. My performing repertoire includes Scarlatti, Beethoven, Schubert, and Chopin. I listen to a lot of recordings, and I have a discerning ear.

About Graham

I am a fourth-year Piano Performance major at The University of Akron. I am currently studying with Philip Thomson, and my past teachers include Laura Silverman, Douglas Hicks, and the late Eugene Mancini. I have experience teaching six-year-olds, retirees, and those in between. I am patient, encouraging, and very passionate about music.

I am available to teach in the student's home or online. It may be possible to have lessons at the church where I am Director of Music.

Piano studies overview:

You can play what you can hear. I work on developing the student's mental concept of how a particular piece of music might sound. This solid musical thinking translates into a reliable technique. Technique should come naturally and should not be overly thought, but I will explain ...
