I studied Jazz Guitar with Peter Sprague and then went on to study the classical guitar with Celin Romero. Later on, while I attended UCSD I studied with Pepe Romero in master classes. In 1982 I became interested in classic rock and founded my band, The Mar Dels. We still play all over the world for private and public events. During my time with The Mar Dels I have learned and performed many of the classic rock hits.

I began taking piano lessons when I was six years old, but switched to guitar lessons at age ten. Ever since then, my passion has been playing guitar and songwriting. I am a music composition honors major at UCSD.

My background focuses mostly on classical, rock/metal, and jazz, and my specialty is the electric guitar. I can also help you learn classical guitar on a nylon string guitar if you prefer, including some flamenco.

Music has always been my passion. From a young age I began developing myself as a musician and guitarist. The early years of my guitar playing were based primarily upon improvisation and playing by ear in bands. It wasn't until college that I began to study classical guitar and receive formal training. I hold my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Composition from the University of California, San Diego. I have been teaching private lessons for 7 years and absolutely love it! There is nothing more satisfying than watching a student progress from knowing little to nothing about music to transforming into a fine musician and performer. I live in Scripps Ranch with my wife and newborn daughter.

I have been making music for over 15 years. I have a diverse background. I started out sampling, and sequencing all types of music back in the 90's. I made dance music, hiphop, RnB, rock, etc. I was more of a producer than performer then. Then I decided to go to school and get a degree in music. I went to Cal State San Marcos and obtained my bachelors in music. I developed into a fingerstyle guitarist while I was there. I also learned how to play the piano while I was there. But I concentrated on the acoustic guitar.

I have been teaching in public schools for more than 15 years and have played for award winning bands. With me you will sound great on the guitar in a short period of time even if you are a beginner. You will learn everything from simple chords and strumming to screaming leads.

Jordan was born and raised in the El Centro, California where he began playing the alto sax in the elementary band program. At the age of 12, he began his study of guitar and drums, performing in several rock and ska bands around his home town and San Diego. At age 14, is where he found his love for brass instruments when he took up the trombone. While in high school he became a featured soloist with the Imperial Valley College Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of the legendary trumpeter Jimmy Cannon. It was this that lead Jordan to accept the Constance Weldon Music Scholarship to attend the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.

Hello! I'm Andrew (but you knew that) and I play guitar!
I have been teaching for just over 3 years, and have studied through both private tutelage and the Ubiquitous Music curriculum. I have studied music theory and composition at Palomar college as well as privately with a graduate from the Berklee School of Music, and have studied arrangement techniques, sound engineering and reinforcement, and mixing techniques with a student of Blink 182's producer. My guitar education has been more widely varied, and includes lessons with a Musician's Institute graduate, a Berklee School of Music graduate, and several other professional guitarists in varying fields and styles.

Playing guitar has surpassed being a hobby for me, it has become a way of life. Every day I practice and write music, trying to further develop my individual style. I have been a working musician since 2005. In that time I have played with bands doing folk, rock, classic rock, blues, jazz, musicals, reggae, punk, funk, covers and much more! I learned there are two main aspects of being a successful guitar player: Listening actively, and practicing regularly. I began teaching in 2006, and have successfully taught 100's of students. Kevin T. is a music professor at MUM, Vice president of the San Diego Songwriters guild, and CEO of Songwriting Planet. Jason has been playing guitar for over 15 years and teaching music since 1996. He instructs students, ages 5 to 105 years old, in music theory, guitar, bass guitar, banjo, keyboard and acoustic guitar. I began playing trumpet at age 9, guitar at age 12, and bass at age 16. While I am a serviceable trumpet player, I found my true loves in guitar and bass and perform almost exclusively on those instruments today.

I played in my high school Jazz and Concert bands, as well as rock bands outside of school. I followed my passion for music to college, where I graduated with Honors from the rigorous Music program at Roosevelt University in Chicago, with a bachelors degree in music performance. I focused on Jazz, but did learn classical theory and harmony as well.

Throughout college I earned income teaching lessons, and continue to this day, giving me over 12 years teaching experience. I perform professionally for a variety of bands in many genres, and write music for my own bands and for theatre productions.
