I am a recent graduate from the University of Redlands, a singer/guitarist/pianist, and I have several years of experience teaching music in private lessons and after-school programs at DC's public schools. My specialty is working with young children (5-10) and anyone interested in learning how to play blues and classic rock, including adults. I have worked with kids as young as 4 and first-time students in their seventies, and have developed a unique curriculum for getting children excited about music. In lessons, my style is laid-back and my priority is creating a safe space for my students to challenge themselves, take artistic risks, and learn from their mistakes. I believe you're never too young to enjoy music, and never too old to start learning!

I've been teach Guitar and Bass for about 2 years now. I've recently been tutoring music theory for college level students. I like getting to know my students as I teach them. Not just for the sake of being able to teach you better. Being comfortable just hanging out before, during and, after a lesson makes the learning experience all that much better. I have all my Music major (Classical Guitar) requirements finished and the information is still fresh in my brain. I play many different styles of music but I specialize in Rock or Metal.

Steve is originally from the Binghamton, NY area and began studying drums at the age of 12 with local jazz musician Tony Monforte. He participated in the All State Orchestra and was placed on the Pro-Mark Honor Roll for young, up-and-coming drummers. Steve received a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY where he studied with Gordon Stout, Steve Brown, and Robert Bridge. He was selected to participate in the Henry Mancini Institute where he worked with some of the leading jazz, film, and classical musicians and composers from around the world including Terence Blanchard, Bud Shank, Christian McBride, and Jerry Goldsmith. He has also studied with Steve Houghton, Greg Fields, John Vidacovich, and Harold Jones.

Rowell holds two Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance and Violin Pedagogy as well as a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music located in Winchester, VA. He enjoys encouraging students in taking their instrument to a new level while still enjoying it. The methods he uses will be different from one student to another, as individuals have different ways of learning. Promoting positive reinforcement helps build confidence. Hi my name is Aleksis, know by thousands of students as "Mr B." I'm 33, happily married with a one year old daughter and five year old son. I have been teaching music for over twenty years now. I have been performing locally and nationally since 1992, solo and with a band, at hundreds of venues across the country as a singer/songwriter guitarist and keyboardist. I am currently recording my fourth full length album, with several albums selling on iTunes. I own my an independent record label, working as an audio and video producer at my home studio and on the road recording live shows as well as with my students in their homes that are working towards a professional music career like mine.

I began singing when I was five years old in church. I continued singing exclusively inspirational music until I was a teenager. At that time, in addition to the second soprano part I sang in a five-part harmony

My undergraduate studies were completed at the American University, where I majored in Communications (B.A.), and minored in Music, voice being my instrument. David is a successful singer/songwriter/guitarist out of Baltimore, MD. He has a bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in composition from Salisbury University, where he also studied jazz and classical guitar . In the 16 years he has been performing (11 of those professionally) and playing guitar, he has released 4 CDs and written over 200 original songs.
