My son has been taking lessons from Matt for almost 2 years and we could not be happier with his progress. Matt provides the personal attention that each of his students needs for growth in guitar skills and also music theory. I also appreciate his flexibility and willingness to accommodate our hectic schedule.

I have been a student for Mathew for past few months and I enjoy his classes. In his classes, I've been learning songs, guitar techniques, music theory, and even a little about the music business from his experiences. He has a great in-home studio which is perfect for guitar lessons and I've have learned a lot from him and I look forward to his classes each week. In my opinion, he is the the best type of person to learn from because of his dedication and his ability to teach anybody at any level.

Todd is an excellent Guitar Teacher.

My daughter has been taking Guitar lessons with Todd since last month. She is very happy with the lessons. Todd lets her chose what she wants to play and at the same time he is developing her overall and basic skills in playing the instrument, in a very encouraging and delightful way. She is certainly learning a lot, under Todd's able guidance.

The study of classical guitar is not for the faint of heart! classical study requires discipline, devotion, commitment, and serious study. .

Classical guitar instruction can build a great base of technique fundamentals for people who go on to study other styles, such as Jazz or Blues.

My name is David, and I am a music teacher of many different subjects. These include guitar, piano, bass, ukulele, recording, music theory, production, composition and film music composition.

I started receiving lessons from David a few years ago, to improve my guitar abilities. I always used to tell people, "I've been playing guitar since the Eighties, though you would never know it." At the time I started, I knew some Metal riffs, three-chord Punk Rock progressions, and simple 12-bar blues. Though I took two guitar classes and first-year Music Theory in college in the early Nineties, the only scale I could say I knew was "blues pentatonic," emphasis on the quotation marks.

My goal was to relearn Modes/Scales, and brush up on theory, so that I could write more complex material. David taught me that, and so much more. Over these few years, I've learned Progressive Rock, Fusion/Jazz, and even some Country styles, as well as a great deal more about Metal and, yes, even Punk from David. I can play leads and solos with much more proficiency, in timing with the rhythm, and more tonally correct, than I ever could before. He has also helped me read music better, construct more professional-sounding compositions, and has started me on my own path to produce my own recordings, from recommending and using recording software, to capturing dynamics with mic placement, to mixing the rough takes to get the most out of the sound.

For a musician of any level or caliber, having an instructor like David is a true asset--for he has the knowledge and skills to take an entry-level musician every step of the way to becoming a professional performer, recorder, mixer, engineer, and producer. The only limit to the lesson's potential is your own level of determination, which David quite expertly helps you to improve with every session. Even if your goal is to simply learn to play one song on one instrument--and David teaches MANY instruments--he will have you playing that song like the musician who wrote it before you realize it--as long as you stick with your practice between lessons. That part's up to you!

David is an outstanding instructor! My son is 5 years old and loves him. My son is occasionally a difficult child with his own special quirks, but David is so patient and observant and tailors the lessons as we go along week to week to keep my son engaged, encouraged and learning. I also have two younger children who must tag along to the lesson and even they are excited during the lessons and are already asking when they start their lessons! We will be starting at least one more child's lessons with him during this coming school year! He is great!

My early days of learning guitar involved classical pieces by Sor, Tarrega and later in college I studied pieces by Villa Lobos and more. I love classical guitar and am well equipped to teach all beginning and some intermediate students.

About Scott

BIO

My passion for teaching comes from a very firm belief that ANYONE can play and understand music with practice and patience. I love helping beginner and intermediate students reach their personal music goals in a relaxed, fun environment.

I started playing guitar when I was ten years old, eventually graduating with a B.A. in Music Composition and going on to start a successful rock band, writing most of the material for the band and even co-writing a song for an internationally successful movie.

I've played more venues than I can remember in many different styles, from classical guitar weddings to blues at the grand opening of a brewery to a completely improvised set with people I've just met. I can do it all and I'd love to help you do it, too!

This is where I sort of apologize in advance for being somewhat dogmatic. In my own experience (and humble opinion), learning the classical guitar should be your first effort. The reasons are many. The main one being that the "guitar", as it's known in the contemporary west, begun its evolution from a classical birth.

What is more, the guitar was organized and structured in playing classical music. Francisco Tárrega would be the person credited for this. Indeed, Tarrega structured the guitar into a legitimate language and craft. This century old organizational craft has given birth to such notables as: Andrés Segovia, Moreno Torroba, Manuel Ponce, Luiz Bonfá, and Leo Brouwer. Certainly the list goes on....

When learning the classical guitar, as ones first introduction to learning music, it provides many key intensives.

First, it provides a written educational structure/form. A structure/form that's unknown to any style or genres of the guitar.

Second, ...

About Kay

Indeed as a kid, I was simply blown away as to how music showcases almost endless stimulating possibilities. This in terms of structure, different genres, discordance, harmony, tamber, melody and rhythm. For it would be these very profound attributes noticed back then that sustain me today.

As a young aspiring musician, "universal" would be last words out of an poor observers mouth. This especially when describing my several attempts in playing speed metal on my sisters viola. It would be these sort of behaviors that summoned my father to buy his resourceful son a electric guitar and amp. The rest was history. A history plagued with disturbing reverberations along my parents bedroom walls and garage doors. This while placing a heavy burden on their pocket books in ...
