Hello fellow and future musicians, and thanks for checking out my profile!
To tell you a little about myself, I was exposed to music at a very young age since my dad was a musician. I first picked up the drums at the age of 5, and took piano lessons for a year when I was 6. I later played the saxophone in 4th grade, and finally discovered the guitar when I was 9. (Ironic since my dad is a guitarist and the guitar was around the house forever!) He showed me my first chords and really got me started on the instrument, and I played in several local bands in high school playing a range of musical styles from rock, blues, funk, and reggae. I really didn't take music seriously until I was in college, and began studying under Jerry Coelho, a member of the very first graduating class of ...

As a bass player in a punk rock band I learned to apply the concepts I know on the guitar over to bass and slowly started introducing intervals and right and left hand techniques that are not as common on the guitar. A few of my bass students are professionals and have applied to big name music schools after taking my class.

Learn how to play bass guitar. Right-hand technique, including slap bass. Standard notation when desired.
Every musician was first and foremost a fan of music. My love of
music began when my mother took me to a performance of Beethoven's
fifth symphony when, coincidentally, I was five. From that point, I
started fervently listening to my mother's records (those are the
huge, black monstrosities that people in the pre-historic used in
place of iPods), followed closely by my father's CD collection.
After a while, this ravenous desire of to know and feel music moved
me to play an instrument. After a couple of false starts with the
drums and violin, I found my true musical calling: the guitar.
On January 25th 1995, on a whim, I began playing the
guitar, and I have yet to put it down. Along the way I've picked up
a number of friends for my guitar, ...
Beginner: You will learn all the notes of the bass and how to play them effectively in a band setting. You will realize that the bass is the back bone of the band and how essential it is with a fellow drummer. Learn the power of a bass player through rhythm and scales.
Intermediate - we will learn through music theory the formula for chords. Though bass players do not often play chords like a keyboard or guitarist you will learn that in a band settings that your bass notes can change things up as a whole. These are what is called slash chords or band voicing. Also there are bass licks. When you hear an example a light switch will light up in your head and you'll realize that the bass player can shine as much as a electric guitarist can.
