About Me

Hello aspiring singers! My name is Jessye and I am a fourth year student at San Jose State University getting my Bachelor's in Music: Opera Performance. I am an active performer but I also love to teach. My focus is Opera, but I love to sing and teach Musical Theater, Pop, Jazz, etc... I believe that every type of singing needs the same foundation for healthy vocal production; with a focus on breathing, tone, and placement. I love to sing and can't wait to share my passion and joy for singing with you! :0)

About Me

Catherine D. has worked with musical theater and opera companies regionally and internationally. She has performed in a variety of musicals and operas, including The Music Man (Mrs. Paroo), Honk!ˆ (Henrietta), Once Upon A Mattress (Lady Rowena), Once On This Island, Miss Saigon, Aida, Singing In The Rain, Seussical the Musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chess, Die Fledermaus, and Cosi Fan Tutti. Along with Janae Mariant, Catherine co-directed and starred as Jane Watson in the independent film Shirley Holmes and Jane Watson: The Murder In The Park. She has been a regular performer at the Camino Real Playhouse in San Juan Capistrano, CA where she recorded an album of songs celebrating San Juan and its history, entitled “Back to Capistrano,” with songwriter and playwright Gary McCarver. About Me

My mother tells me I was reading music before I was reading words. One of my earliest memories is singing with my church children's choir; I must have been about four. I began piano lessons when I was six and in fourth grade took up the clarinet. In sixth grade I really wanted to sit next to my best friend in band class, who happened to play the oboe. So I made the switch and it stuck!

Most parents want their kids to grow up to be doctors. Mine saw my passion for music and so encouraged me to go to music school. I rebelled, naturally, thinking I would get my degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (with a double-major in Music to appease my folks). After it became painfully clear to me that music was really my strong point, I decided to pursue it as a career. I received my Bachelor's degree in oboe performance at the University of California, Santa Cruz and continued on to receive a Master's in choral and orchestral conducting.

About Me

I am a classically-trained opera singer. I have a Bachelors and Masters in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy (teaching), and have sung professionally in the U.S. and Europe. I have sung Opera, Operetta, Musical Theater and Concerts, as well as choral and cantorial singing. I have been a finalist and winner of vocal competitions in both the United States and Europe.
I have been teaching voice since 1980, and have worked with all ages of students. I have also directed and designed for musical theater and opera. Because I love singing, I want to bring that to my students as well, whatever kind of music they want to sing.

In addition to music, I also teach English (ESL), Accent Reduction, German, U.S. & World History. I have my CBEST Credential And ESL Certification. I do private tutoring and teach classes.

About Me

When I was 10, my family, fed up with my experimental fumblings at the piano, decided to enroll me in music lessons. What happened afterward changed my life completely—and I am very thankful for it. That gift of knowledge gave me the ability to explore worlds I never could have otherwise.

These days, I am a professional freelance musician, specializing in solo and ensemble vocal music from 1750 and before. I utilize my background in classical music to build a solid musical foundation in each student, while striving to incorporate the student's own interests into their lessons.

Come visit me. Lets play with your favorites, and enjoy! My primary focus is classical, which is the foundation for all healthy singing.
