About Me

Thank you for your interest in voice lessons! I am a singer who teaches and performs in and around San Francisco. I have a strong passion for teaching voice and sharing my knowledge of singing and the musical arts with others. I believe with the right instruction and determination anyone has the ability to sing!

I am a classically trained singer, which means my teaching will involve classical techniques. The techniques and skills I teach can be used for various singing genres such as musical theater, pop, rock, opera, jazz, blues and gospel singing. I believe voice lessons are fun, and also beneficial for improving music skills, expanding the range, developing vocal stamina and quality, and increasing confidence.

I completed my Bachelors of Music at the University of Washington in Seattle, and my Masters of Arts in Vocal Performance at San Jose State University. I have been teaching voice for 7 years throughout the Seattle, San Jose, and San Francisco areas. My students...

About Me

Stefaie August is a private music educator located in San Francisco, CA. She has been assisting students of all levels gain a mastery of voice, piano, music theory, and compostion for over 20 years. Her specialty is jazz, rock, blues and pop music.

Stefanie holds a bachelor of Music cum laude degree in jazz studies from the University of Bridgeport. She is also a highly accomplished vocalist and pianist who continues to perform whenever possible.

Stefanie looks forward to helping you acheive your goals as vocalist or musician.

I am a fabulous teacher. Really! As a member of NATS (National Organization of Teachers of Singing), I hold my teaching skills to a high standard. No matter what kind music you like to sing, I can help you become more comfortable and have lots of fun! Maybe you want to experiment with pop, jazz or rock? Maybe you like current Broadway hits? Come visit me. Lets play with your favorites, and enjoy! My primary focus is classical, which is the foundation for all healthy singing.

About Me

DONNA B., mezzo-soprano, has sung Opera, Concerts and Recitals all over the world. In the US, her performances have included San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Symphony, Dallas Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Music of the Baroque in Chicago, San Diego Symphony, Virginia Symphony, Kentucky Opera, Utah Opera and Portland Opera. In recital, she has been heard nationwide in a recital for National Public Radio, on the Dame Myra Hess series in Chicago, and on the Schwabacher Recital Series in San Francisco. Her recording of Corpus Evita , by Carlos Franzetti, has been nominated this year for a Grammy Award. Miss B. is a specialist in the music of Mozart, Handel, Rossini and in the orchestral music of Mahler. A graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL, she holds a Master of Music degree in Voice, and undergraduate degrees in Music Performance and Music Education from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. About Me

Richard: Baritone
I am currently a director at the San Francisco Boys Chorus. I recently finished my Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Oregon. Before attending the University of Oregon I received my B.A. in Vocal Performance from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. While in San Luis Obispo I taught private voice lessons, directed two choirs at the Central Coast Children's Choir, and directed a church music program. Furthermore, I was given the opportunity to consistently work with several choirs at the university. While in Oregon, I directed several different choirs, taught privately, and was a Graduate Teaching Fellow in Music Education. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and I treat each student as an individual, and work hard to meet their particular needs. My diverse background makes me the perfect candidate for you, or your child's music lessons.

About Me

I was born in New York, then moved back to Istanbul, Turkey where I was raised. I have started to sing in 1983 with various choirs, in Istanbul, Turkey. I have performed with the prestigious TRT (Turkish Radio Television) Istanbul Youth Polyphonic Choir for 4 years. With the choir I had appeared on regular TV concerts, live concerts and radio recordings .I have a B.A. degree in "Advertising & Marketing Research" (emphasis on Creative Writing) from Istanbul University. I also have a teaching certificate from the University of Cambridge, CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults). I have a B.M. (Bachelors of Music) "Vocal Performance" (emphasis on Opera). I graduated from SFSU in 2005. I have performed with various ensembles, groups and choirs at SFSU since 1998. While I was at SFSU my academic success was recognized by Golden Key International Honor Society and I became a member in 2000.
