Tracey H. San Francisco, CA

I've been singing for 17 years and have taught a wide range of students. I'm confident we can build a custom-fit program for your voice to address your unique strengths, challenges, and areas of growth.

About Tracey

I've been singing, performing, songwriting, and studying voice for 17 years. I attended Berklee College of Music, where I studied Voice/Vocal Performance, and earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Vocal Performance from Musician's Institute in LA. I've been teaching since 2006, and work with a wide range of contemporary genres with a focus on rock, pop, country, folk, Americana, R&B, blues, and soul. I like to take a "back-to-basics" approach to voice by helping students develop the core aspects of breathing/breath control, correct vowel placement/vowel tuning, and a focus on muscle memory as it relates to stretching the cords. I've been told my approach is simple yet effective, and a unique blend of classic concepts with a practical/modern approach to ...

One amazing teacher!

Tracey is a phenomenal voice teacher and I highly recommend her! She's organized, professional and very musically talented. But more than that, Tracey is extremely adept at communicating the subtle and hard to grasp vocal techniques that are so difficult to put into words. In addition to using analogies, she's great at using visual cues (drawings, arrows, notation# and relating vocal movements to colors, physical movements and sensations. She was more than willing to adapt her lessons for me so that I can gain the best understanding.

I have had other teachers in the past, and while they were all talented and very nice, only Tracey has been able to help me improve my singing voice. I improved more in 3 lessons with her than I did in 8 months of lessons with a previous teacher.

Tracey is also very kind and patient #very necessary with beginners!) and very good at correcting without criticizing. She went way out of her way to accomodate my schedule and even comes to my house for the lessons. I think she's the best and I'm sure you will too!

Learn how to sing in any style of your choice. I use the Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method, which teaches singing as a function and can be applied to almost any singing style.

About Margaret

I am an opera singer and I teach and perform in and around San Francisco. I love teaching and sharing my knowledge of singing and the musical arts with others. I believe with the right instruction and determination anyone has the ability to sing!

I have training in classical singing as well as in musical theater, pop/rock, gospel and blues. In order to sing these different styles it is important to know how the voice works functionally so that it is trained properly and remains healthy. I use the Somatic Voicework™- The LoVetri Method because it is a body-based method of vocal training which draws from many disciplines, and is based upon voice science and medicine as well as traditional classical vocal training. It can be used for almost any singing genre such as musical theater, ...

I love teaching Voice and helping people discover their own unique sound.

GREAT TEACHER

My son who is 7 yrs old now loves his teacher, Ms. Kristina. I see my son enjoying every lesson with her. He is learning correct breathing exercises while doing vocalization. After, he sings a song that likes. Sometimes, it is difficult to teach children because of their moods but Ms. Kristina can make every lesson for my son fun and enriching. He's been doing great for a 7 yr old.

Classical, folk, musical theater, church music

About Skye

I am a classically trained soprano with a special passion for folk songs. I also love to work with my vocal students on musical theater and pop styles.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons start with gentle physical stretches and breathing exercises. I will lead you through a series of vocal warm-ups, starting with very simple lip trills and progressing to longer scales and arpeggios. If you choose, then we will work on ear training and sight-singing to help you understand your printed music. After that, we work on songs we choose together, based on what music you are passionate about singing and what repertoire level seems right for you. Through your songs, we will work on diction, phrasing, breath support, tension, and the joy of interpreting a song in your own way. I provide ...

I am just about to finish my first set of lessons with Skye (and just signed up for another set). I am thrilled to be working with Skye! Skye is helping me learn some choir pieces. We get alot done in our 30 minutes together, plus she sends me a recording of our session via an email link, which enables me to practice throughout the week. Singing with Skye has really improved my confidence and is helping me expand my range and sight reading abilities. Thank you, Skye! Janis Sowder

Singing lessons with Skye

It's been awhile since I've had singing lessons. Skye was able to pick up from where I left off. She is patient and knowledgable about the technical aspects of voice, warming up, sight reading and walking through new songs in Italian, French and Spanish.

She's also got a beautiful voice of her own. I highly recommend working with Skye.

Angel is a dream! At our first lesson I told Angel that I couldn't even sing Happy Birthday, he calmly and patiently assured me that I could and by the end of our first lesson I was singing a Gloria Estefan song. It was kind of magical. Angel makes you feel 100% a home and comfortable so you can focus on the singing.
Roz H. San Francisco, CA

About Roz

What’s special about learning music is every person’s musical journey is their own. My musical journey started on piano, which included singing and accompanying on piano (choir and chorales), and also learning clarinet, and violin.

It was clear in high school that my music journey would be through piano performance. I studied piano performance at UC Davis with Lois Brandwynne as well as accompanied the UC Davis Chamber Singers (Al McNeil, conductor) and for master voice instructor Stephanie Friedman (Mezzo Soprano). I discovered contemporary music while in a jazz fusion band "Melange" and also co-leading the UC Davis gospel choir (With Calvin Lymos) and landed at Berklee College of Music studying music composition, arranging, and ensemble performance graduating ...
