Piano, Clarinet, Music Performance, Oboe
I have been an instrumental performer for 20 years. As a child, I began my classical training on the piano. At age 10, I began studying the oboe. Throughout my musical career, I have always performed with the highest level ensembles and have received high marks and rewards over the years. Because of my dedication to and passion for music, I chose a career as a music educator. I followed that path and graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Music in 2008 with a B.A. in Music Education.
I now have been teaching music for 6 years. During my junior year of college, I started teaching privately as an oboe instructor for middle and high school students. Upon graduating in 2008, I moved to Tampa, Florida where I taught elementary music full time and continued to teach oboe and woodwind lessons privately. I also taught elementary music and private lessons in Dallas, Texas before moving to California. During my career, I have helped hundreds of students prepare for and have success in dozens of performances. I am excited for you to be another student for me to guide on a musical journey!
Basic Math, Piano, Singing, Broadway Singing, Clarinet, English, Flute, Music Performance, Music Theory, Oboe, Opera Voice, Saxophone, Bassoon
I am a second year music education major at San Diego State University, specializing in voice. I have six years experience in music and four and a half years experience playing woodwind instruments in a high school and college band environment. Also have experience working with high school level students at a local school, teaching both the band as a whole and individuals working on technique and musicality.
I specialize in beginning woodwinds, including double reed instruments. My major wind instrument is flute, which I can teach from beginner to intermediate levels. Singing is also from a beginning to intermediate level. Piano, also an introductory level. I could also tutor music theory.
Algebra, Basic Math, Elementary Math, Pre Algebra, Arithmetic, Oboe
I am a graduate of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in Human Biology, B.S. and a minor in music. I have experience teaching basic math and English, and my focus is always on building a solid foundation from which a student can grow and prosper.
I am also a very proficient oboist and have much experience performing and teaching the oboe. I have experience playing in many different ensembles including chamber groups, chamber orchestras, wind ensembles, and full size orchestras. I have performed in some of the greatest concert halls in America including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Boston Symphony Hall, and the Chicago Symphony Center. I have over 13 years of experience performing in orchestras/wind ensembles, and preparing for auditions or performing orchestral literature are my fortes. My oboe students can expect to be privy to a wealth of knowledge and experience. I believe in establishing sound fundamentals early in the young musicians musical career in order to allow the student to properly absorb knowledge and experience from all his/her future musical encounters. The beginning stages may seem notoriously tedious at first, but that hard work will pay off in the end. I am also open to teaching/advising more advanced players in high school who need assistance preparing solo works , audition excerpts, or orchestral literature.

"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
