Born and raised in Santa Maria, CA, Aaron's first musical experiences were on a child size drum set given to him on his 5th Christmas. He later took piano lessons and played the alto saxophone before switching to the guitar at the age of 9 learning his first chords from his father. He played in several local bands in high school playing a range of musical styles from rock, blues, funk, and reggae. Aaron finally took music seriously in college and began taking lessons from Jerry Coelho, a member of the very first graduating class of the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, CA, and Dominic Castillo, a student of Coelho and a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. After studying under these talented individuals, Aaron went on to pursue his education in music where he graduated from San Jose State University in 2004 with a BA in Music. After college, Aaron began work as a freelance musician and guitar teacher, teaching hundreds of students in the San Jose and Bakersfield, CA area. In July 2010 he relocated to San Diego, CA, where he teaches, freelances, and plays guitar in local funk/jazz/rock group Science Fiction Jazz and gypsy/kick stomp outfit Quel Bordel!

Over the course of my musical career, I have had the opportunity to learn from many musicians. From University Professors to Street Corner Musicians, I have gathered much knowledge on how to play music. Applying that knowledge to my guitar playing has opened up many doors of opportunity and has made my life very interesting. One of my talents is to take complicated ideas and convey them in easy to understand ideas for my students. I now wish to share all my knowledge and experiences with you to enjoy a life of music.
Students of mine have been able to create their own music to record and perform. Ensembles that I have directed have performed at many local venues. I have also invited students to join me at my performances to help them become more confident in their playing.
I have been teaching guitar professionally since 2001 and performing professionally since 1994.

Hi everyone! I'm a hard-working musician with a background in live performance, songwriting, composition, and home recording. I want to help you perform the music you love, whether you're playing to your family, your webcam, or a 15,000 seat arena. I have been teaching private music lessons since 2007.
I am a graduate of UCSD, where I completed my bachelor's degree in music theory and composition. I have taken years of private lessons, played bass, guitar, and mandolin in local and touring bands, and released three albums of original music. I want to make your goals accessible.
Drum, Music Performance, Music Theory, Percussion
Not only do I love chess and running marathons, but I also have three degrees in drums and percussion (Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate). I have ten years experience as a performer (including playing drums on a Grammy nominated album) with orchestras, touring big bands (Jimmy Dorsey, Five-By-Design), professional productions (Carnival Cruise Lines, amusement parks), jazz artists, and rock bands. I have also toured solo as a classical marimbist. Although I have a strong foundation in rudimental and jazz drumming, I also have roots in West African drumming, Cuban and Brazilian styles, and polka.
I have taught percussion lessons, percussion classes for band directors, jazz ensembles, percussion ensembles, and drum lines at Kansas State University, The University of Southern Mississippi, The University of Wisconsin Stout, San Diego State University, San Diego Christian College, and the University of California at San Diego, as well as dozens of high schools. I love all things percussion related, including the history of the instruments and their performance techniques.
Although I was raised in Wisconsin, I relocated to my city of birth (San Diego) in September of 2010.

Alumnae of CSULAs music department with an emphasis in classical voice and guitar, Francesca's skills cover a vast ocean of information. With a background and formal education in opera and "the classics", Francesca is equally comfortable on stage at The House of Blues as she is at Disney Hall.
Francesca started teaching music at the early age of 16 with great success. She has honed her skills both in the private studio and in the classroom. Having served as musical faculty the California Music Academy, Cornelia Connelly High School, Pasadena Saturday Music Conservatory, and East Los Angeles College, having led choirs of 70+ high school girls and sung before sold out audiences of thousands of screaming fans, having toured 4 continents singing both classical repertoire and performing in commercial rock bands, having sung for presidents and princes, Francesca has high expectations and is skilled in helping her students reach their goals.
Now performing in the Donald Brinager Singers, a studio choir for-hire, Francesca can often be seen performing with orchestras throughout Southern California. While mentoring thru her award-winning teaching studio, Francesca also manages to perform several showcases featuring her original music with her amazing back-up ensemble.
With a constant effort to maintain a professional studio learning environment and with a focus on reading skills and solid technique, Francesca's students enjoy lessons packed with information and light-heartedness. The one on one experience you will have the moment you walk thru the door promises to be unmatched. Francesca's students can be seen on major television networks, radio stations and performing around town in various projects. With a passion to give back, Francesca reserves a small number of spots in her schedule for the youngsters and seniors of her community. She teaches beginning through advanced guitar, piano, and voice.

I genuinely enjoy working with students of all ages and skill levels! Teaching is my passion and my profession. I am endorsed by Soultone Cymbals as well as TNR Products. I was also recently invited to judge the 2013 Guitar Center Drum Off in San Diego. I have 7 years' experience as a drum instructor as well as 15+ years experienced playing and performing in bands. My YouTube covers have received 30,000+ plays. In addition to this I instruct a Teen Music Program as well as two Elementary Level classes for young musicians in underprivileged areas of San Diego. Each year my private students hold a recital with a band of professional musicians to share their talents with friends and family in a fun, low-key environment.
Studies show that participation in the fine arts helps children become more confident, better able to work in groups and finish projects, and that children are more likely to go onto college and select careers that will provide them the most opportunity for financial success. With the arts so overwhelmingly missing and underfunded in our public education system, private music instruction is one of the most easy accessible options for exposing your child to the arts.
Even adults benefit from the stress release, mental focus, and achievement-orientation of music lessons. Music education is a life-long beneficial pursuit-- I have it to thank for much of my own personal confidence and success!
My teaching style is based around the nurturing of one's own voice, style, and personal development. Also, I love to rock out!!! My students are encouraged to develop a full-bodied, groove-based ROCKIN sound on the drums. You will be playing songs from bands like Weezer, AC/DC, Green Day, White Stripes or other popular tunes you like in a matter of months. For the experienced player, my curriculum can take you as high as taking apart Neal Peart's solo in Tom Saywer, to brutal progressive and double bass metal, or copping moves from the greats such Steve Gadd, JoJo Mayer, and Dennis Chambers. Whether you're interested in playing casually, or seriously pursuing a music career, I am here to support and offer advice while pushing you to your personal best! Call today!
"Steven is very professional and extremely helpful. He always has a smile on and is serious about helping you phrase the music. I would highly recommend him to anyone."
"It's been really exciting so far! Jordan has been so helpful, so knowledgeable. I could not have found a better instructor and I'm getting better and better every day."
"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
