As a 15 year old teen I was headed no where. I had no interests, and was failing my freshman year of high school. This is when I started playing the guitar and fell in love with music. As I studied under my dad who was a professional musician my mind started to open up. My attention span grew. My problem solving skills and comprehension improved to such a degree that my grades went up to the honor level in my sophomore year. I graduated with a 4.0 so I preach and stress the importance of learning a musical instrument.
I got into teaching only 4 years after I first picked up the guitar and immediately found that it was what I wanted to do for a living. Oh sure! Playing in bands is fun and I do play in 3 different bands at the moment, but I enjoy seeing my students grow in and with music most of all. I teach acoustic and electric guitar as well as the bass guitar and have 20 years experience as a professional musician. I have been teaching exclusively in the High Desert area for the last 16 years. I started at a music store in Apple Valley called Hi Note Music then taught at Tom's for the last 14 years. In order to better serve the area I now I have three locations in which I teach at. Rollover Beethoven's Music store in Hesperia, My church in Victorville, and my studio in Apple Valley.

Hey, I'm Michael! I'm 22 and I've been teaching modern music to students of every age and skill level since 2007. I've also been performing with all types of amazing musicians right here in the Inland Empire since I was 10 years old. I've gained valuable experience touring up & down the west coast in a variety of productions. Along the way I've been lucky enough to work alongside some of the most talented musicians, producers, promoters, songwriters, performers and teachers in the music industry today. Now, with a mastery of a wide variety of instruments and unparalleled experience performing in every type of musical act imaginable, it's my goal to pass on my knowledge to the next generation of modern musicians.
For your first lesson we will assess how much skill you already have on your instrument of choice. We'll discuss what types of bands & artists you already enjoy listening to and what type of musician you'd eventually like to become. Right from day one we are going to dive right in and start making music!
From there we will put together a custom tailored lesson plan that's as unique as you are. We will focus on what you will enjoy learning most and mix in some super fun and challenging exercises taken right out pop-culture's most exciting and famous tunes.
Students who learn the music they know and love are proven to learn faster, retain information longer and have more fun compared to students who attend "ordinary" music lessons which focus on book work and boring exercises through repetition. Custom lesson plans assure the best possible chance of success in the ever-changing modern music industry.
Students are required to have enough equipment to be able to successfully practice on their own... how else can they get better? However, for those who are just starting out or are not sure what to buy yet, I do offer consultations for students individual needs as part of their first lesson. I started tutoring when I was in the Second Grade. I was part of a group that went to the library and helped teach Kinders how to read. Since that time I've just continued to help people around me because it seemed natural. This continued until I was tutoring my friends on their college homework while we were at lunch at our high school. I have always heard, and continue to hear, "You're really good at breaking things down," and, "When you describe it, it seems simple."
I love to tutor people because I'm of the mind that there isn't anything that anyone _can't_ do. As long as it's explained in terms the person can understand, there really isn't.

I was born and raised in Southern California and have been playing bass professionally for over 25 years. I studied music theory at Riverside Community College and specialize in most genres of music including rock, ska, reggae, country and blues. I am a founding member of both ska legends The Skeletones and alt-country heroes Bucksworth.
I've toured internationally and have shared the stage with such luminaries as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Smash Mouth, No Doubt, Sublime, Jefferson Starship and Steel Pulse. My discography includes eleven full-length studio albums and numerous compilations.
My playing has been featured on several international cable shows including MTV's Viva La Bam, The Hills, Parental Control and Punk'd.

I am a college student who's real passion is for music. I play in 2 semi-professional bands and cannot see myself doing anything for the long term besides being involved in music. It is this passion that drives me to teach others so that they can experience the fun, joy, and satisfaction that music has brought to my life.
I am 100% committed to my students. Every student is different and requires a different way of learning. I am not one of those old school teachers who is more concerned with their ego than their student. Whatever the student wants to learn, I teach. I develop a lesson plan designed for each individual student based on musical goals, age, experience, ability to learn etc. I am honest, punctual, and flexible to make sure that all of my students are comfortable and excited to learn music.
Please note that taking lessons involves 5% instruction and 95% practice. Some people think that after one or two hours of lessons they will be the next Van Halen. As a teacher, I can only teach so much in 30-60 minutes. Whatever is covered in the lesson must be practiced and perfected by the student on their own time when they have more than 30-60 minutes. Lessons are a time to evaluate progress since the last lesson as well as teach new concepts to be practiced until the next meeting. In other words, learning an instrument is entirely what you make of it. I can give you the tools to learn quicker and more efficiently, but I cannot make someone a rockstar with 1 hour a week. That is up to you! With dedication the sky is the limit!
"Steven is very professional and extremely helpful. He always has a smile on and is serious about helping you phrase the music. I would highly recommend him to anyone."
"It's been really exciting so far! Jordan has been so helpful, so knowledgeable. I could not have found a better instructor and I'm getting better and better every day."
"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
