It is a pleasure to meet you! A little introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy; I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven, and I just reconnected with my first teacher again on Facebook, what a lovely world this is.

Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years.

I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them to accomplish the goals they have set for themselves, working with music that delights and educates.

Because music speaks directly to the emotions, I have developed a learning environment that integrates both the emotional and thinking centers of your brain.

My large sunlit studio and teaching style are designed to make you or your child comfortable and lessons are designed to be supportive and helpful.

Through a wide variety of activities, I will provide you with the instruction and positive feedback you need to master the skills necessary for singing or playing the cello. However, I also believe I can be most helpful, if from the beginning, I show you how these skills work together to create a moving performance.

Learning requires repeated rehearsal. However, despite its bad reputation, practicing can be something you or your child looks forward to. During our lessons I will help you develop skills useful for assessing your at-home progress and giving yourself positive feedback. I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have always enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. I have continued to study violin since then and performed in many orchestras and small groups, such as Honor Orchestra, the Paradise Symphony, the Yuba College Orchestra, Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society Orchestra and more. I have been concert master and first stand in many of these. I have also soloed in many and have been the first violinist in quartets for countless weddings and other events. I am a brass, voice and percussion artist and teacher, local to the Sacramento area, specializing in many styles such as Classical, Jazz, and Pop. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance from CSU Sacramento. During my time here in Sacramento I have held the position of Principal Tuba for the Folsom Symphony for the 2009 - 2011 seasons. I'm currently the lead trombone for the Harley White Jr. Jazz Orchestra and lead trombone for the Element Brass Band. In addition, I was privileged to win multiple downbeat awards with the Sacramento State Jazz Singers where I sung bass and was often a featured soloist. Gaw is a voice artist, music teacher, and arranger local to the Sacramento area, specializing in styles such as Jazz, Pop, R&B, and Classical. She began her music experience with the baritone at age 12, and eventually learned to play the violin, trumpet, French horn, piano, and percussion. She received her B.M. in Vocal Jazz Performance from California State University of Sacramento which she studied under world-class jazz artists Julia Dollison and Kerry Marsh.

Gaw sings locally in various Sacramento venues, such as Shady Lady, JB lounge and Capital Garage. She won multiple Downbeat Awards with vocal jazz ensembles at Sacramento State. She performed with Schola Cantorum under the direction of Don Kendricks. Gaw played brass with the championship level drum and bugle corps, Mandarins and Blue Devils A. My name is Sean W. and I've been a multi instrumentalist for 23 years! I've performed opera as a soprano, Rock, funk, punk, metal, and Jazz on guitar, bass, and drum-kit. I find being able to accompany my students on other instruments to be an indispensable tool.

I my elementary years I attended a music school. There I performed "classical styles" as a solo soprano and classical pianist. My experience included performing opera with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and smaller "gigs", like weddings and seasonal concerts. I still to this day value my classical training.

I'm Esther, a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself piano and singing in a choir at the age of 9. I moved to the U.S. in 1992 and studied music for 10 years receiving my B.M. & M.A. in music at California State University of Sacramento. I studied and trained with Claudia Kitka & Jackie Victorino for voice and Kirsten Smith, Joan McDe, & Angel Mamn for piano. I have performed many solo concerts in the U.S. as well as South Korea.

I find a student's strengths and weaknesses using various ways to encourage each student. I am very patient, kind, flexible, and enthusiastic and I love working with children as much as adults. I strongly support basic skills: sight-reading, pitch and tone.
