I grew up in a family of educators, so I've played piano since I was 7, but taught both private students and group piano for over 25 years. My approach is to meet each student at their level and to develop a sincere love for music.

Piano is a fundamental instrument and through exposure and learning, most students can go on to play any instrument.....that's how I started. I am familiar and have taught most methods on the market today such as: Bastien, Faber, Alfred, Denes Agay, John Thompson, Edna Mae Burnam( Dozen A Day), Martha Mier and so on. I've also helped to develop lesson books and curriculum as well.

I have 14 years of experience in classical piano and I absolutely love to teach music! When teaching piano, I strive to help my students obtain a solid understanding of the piano, and help them build skills in reading, performance, proper practice techniques, and musical techniques. I also introduce them to a wide variety of repertoire and implement ear training and theory into my lessons so they can become a well-rounded musician. My students are also able to apply what they have learned to their specific musical interests. I teach with a mixture of the Kodaly and Dalcroze methods, and I believe in engaging my students visually, auditorialy, and kinesthetically, so they can have the best learning experience possible!

About John

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide a portable grand keyboard if I am traveling to a lesson. I have plenty of electric guitars and amplifiers available.

*** Specialties ***
I focus on visual, kinesthetic, and aural techniques and practices in my lessons, to build a solid foundation, understanding, and love for music. I am very interested in Kodaly's method of inner hearing and music literacy. I also use ideas from Dalcroze and Orff to make sure my students become well-rounded. I strive to teach at the best of my ability, work hard, and share my love for music with others.

From beginning to advanced, a student will learn how to manage their time for daily practice, and how to practice effectively and efficiently. All styles of music are taught; the sky is the limit. Sight reading, practice, performance, and technique are key foci of my teaching style.

About Rock

I'm a piano player with over a decade of experience, and have been teaching lessons for around eight years or so. I graduated with honors from California State University, San Bernardino, in 2008, with degrees in both Music Education and Music Composition.I have an affinity for Central and Eastern European Piano music and I currently play two Sundays a month at Spirit of Hope Church in San Bernardino. My teaching style runs the gamut of the piano repertoire -- from classical to broadway to jazz to the commercial music arena -- and my teaching revolves around the importance of notation and the printed page.I was originally a guitar player and have taught guitar to students as well, again, placing great emphasis on notated music, as it's far easier to move from the printed page to ...

Victoria is really nice and definitely patient. She made it comfortable for me from the first meeting. It takes a good teacher to make the fundamental part of learning any instrument exciting which is exactly what Victoria does. Her tutoring makes me hopeful for my musical future. If you're looking to learn how to play the piano you can't go wrong with her.

We are very blessed!

We have been very pleased with our flute teacher. I have had the privilege of Victoria's instruction for 3.5 years. Victoria is fun, patient and energetic. She is reliable and flexible at the same time, which we appreciate. She works on hard passages diligently with me until I am confidant. We consider it a huge plus that she comes to our home for lessons. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful teacher.
