Chris S. Temecula, CA

About Chris

Hi there! My name is Chris and I've been playing music my entire life and I believe that with the right attitude and environment anyone can achieve musical greatness!

I was born into a musical family and have studied classical piano since I was 4 years old! I am very well versed in music theory and proper technique, with an emphasis on avoiding player's injuries, as well as a great knowledge of classical Pieces for any skill level.

Alas!

As a young teenager I grew rebellious and learned how to play the electric guitar and have since sought teachers outside my family to learn modern styles and 5 other instruments!! I have also worked toward a music degree and have made music the center of my life.

Classical music is not everyone's passion but a good ...

Everything from progressions to rhythm to barre chords and beyond.

Flaminco Guitar is often thought of as advanced and complicated.

I can break down the style so that you can not only understand it, but also play the style so that you sound like a pro.

About Brian

I have been teaching in public schools for more than 15 years and have played for award winning bands. With me you will sound great on the guitar in a short period of time even if you are a beginner. You will learn everything from simple chords and strumming to screaming leads.

*** Lesson Details ***
My motto is "make learning fun!" I cater to what the student wants to learn. I can figure out most songs by ear and teach it. With beginning students I start with the basics. How to hold the guitar and pick and not develop bad habits. As the students progress they can learn more theory. Scales and modes and how they pertain to chord structure. Most all of my students find me funny and entertaining. You WILL have fun in my class!

Weve only had 3-4 lessons but Things seem to be going well. My son is 12 and is more into sports than music but brian is able to hold his attention by making it fun and informational and is focusing on music that my son likes. Like Santana/mike Jackson/jimi Hendricks. I would recommend brian to a friend
Celino R. San Diego, CA

About Celino

Celino R. is the youngest member of the world-renowned classical guitar quartet, "Los Romeros" but he has proved to be a true concert veteran with numerous brilliant performances. With the introduction of Celino into the quartet in 1990, their music has spanned three generations of virtuosity. After Celino's quartet debut, The New York Times observed: "One of the enduring mysteries of musical talent is how skills seem to flow genetically from musical parent to musical child. In the R. family, the flow has been swift and unimpeded. The virtuosity of the four R's was uniformly solid and finely considered, as if these techniques had derived from a single mold".

In their review The Ann Arbor News declared Celino as "a young prince among three kings of ...

Study flamenco rhythm, rapid strumming (rasgueado), rapid thumb technique (alzapa), and picado. Learn forms such as buleras, alegras and tangos.

About Edward

Edward first became fascinated with the guitar at the age of fifteen. Before long he was putting bands together and looking for gigs. As time went on, his influences grew to include everything from classical to hip-hop to pop, but the one genre that that made the strongest impact was flamenco.
His passion led him to Spain where, after subsequent trips, he studied with some of the greatest guitarists in the business including David Serva, Emilio Maya, Paco Cortes and Rafael Santiago “Habichuela”. Between trips Edward studied classical guitar at Grossmont College and San Diego State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in music performance in 2008.
Today Edward regularly performs as a soloist and with various ensembles ranging from pop groups to ...

Extraordinary talent, patient, detail-oriented, and great understanding of both flamenco and classic guitar theory and execution. I have known Edward for seven years now, and his guitar technique is exceptional.

I also called Edward when I was choreographing a play at MiraCosta College and needed a guitarist to create the music for the play and perform it live. He is extremely creative, a problem-solver, and team-player. I couldn't ask for a better person to do the job.

I never picked up a guitar until after age 50, and then for some unknown reason decided I wanted to learn flamenco guitar.

I've been taking lessons with Ed for about 8 months.

Ed is teaching the flamenco basics and techniques, and also makes sure he adds in some easier items so that I can see progress. The lessons are comfortable - Ed has an easy going personality that makes the lessons comfortable and enjoyable.

Very pleased with Ed as my instructor

If you want to learn how to play flamenco guitar (and how to accompany a flamenco dancer), Edward is your teacher.

If you are a flamenco dancer (and want to learn how to improve your compass), Edward is your teacher.

He will encourage your progress in a facilitative and positive manner.

I recommend him wholeheartedly.
