After graduating from the elite High School of Music in Oita, Japan - I came to America to study
at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. After completing their famous pedagogy program
in 1992, I graduated and settled in San Diego to focus on teaching and piano accompaning.
I began teaching piano full-time in 1997 and always get a thrill out of helping students of all
ages to achieve their musical dreams and bring out their best qualities.

violin at the age of six. I have performed with small chamber ensembles,

have taught beginner to advanced Violin and Viola for eight years in NC before moving to California in 2008. Since moving to California I have extended my teaching to beginner Piano and Cello also. I have
taught students ages 3 to 87 how
to play and enjoy music on a personal level. My experience includes leading
sectionals for middle school orchestra, organizing and instructing small ensembles,

Hello! I have been playing the piano since I was five years old, back in good old 1989 and have never stopped. I firmly believe that music is not just an extra-curricular activity or a hobby. Studying and playing music benefits all facets of life. It is one of the few fields of study that uses both the left and right side of your brain. By learning, understanding, performing, and appreciating music, not only are you developing your creative side, but you are also strengthening the analytical side of your brain. I offer a fun, interactive teaching style that encompasses more than 20 years of performing and 15 years of teaching experience. As a performer I have worked as a professional singer, actor, musician, and dancer. I have always had a passion for teaching, directing, and composing. While my love for performing has lessened over the years, I have found my true calling: teaching, directing, and helping others to find their passion for music and the performing arts.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a special emphasis in music, theatre, dance, and psychology. I am a graduate candidate working on completing my thesis as my final requirement for a Masters of Arts degree in Music at San Diego State University.

Jill graduated from SDSU in 2010 with a Bachelor's of Music degree in Vocal Performance. She has been studying voice for 10 years now, and also grew up playing violin, viola, and piano since age 8. Jill currently maintains a multi-faceted career as a classically-trained soprano soloist, choir director, and private music instructor. She hopes to achieve a Masterʼs degree in Speech Pathology within the next few years, and has a passionate and serious commitment to teach healthy singing and piano technique to students of all ages!

I am currently working with autistic individuals using music and musical instruments as a tool. I am the drummer in the Lenny Fuzzy Rankins Band better known as fuzzy and the Bluesman. I also have my own group called Smooth Groove where I drum and sing. I have been playing drums for 40 years and have been singing for just as long. I have been playing professionally for 30 years. I produced Jacob Lusk one of American Idols finalist from last season 2011. I have been a songwriter for most of my life. I started piano lessons when I was about 6 years old. I graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with a BA in Music Education. After moving to San Diego, I spent the next 20 years or so being a wife and mom and raising 3 kids, one of them a special needs child due to a drowning accident. I've been a church pianist and choir director for almost 30 years and worked at a charter school in Lakeside as a choir teacher and Music History class teacher. I started teaching piano about 10 years ago on the recommendation of a friend and fell in love with it! I have taught kids from the ages of 6 to 16, but would welcome adult students.

I love people of all ages. And I love helping them discover what beautiful things they can create, especially in the world of music. Music is such a powerful way to express ourselves, and I love helping others learn how to do this and really enjoy it.

I have played piano since I was three. When I was able to read at age four, I began lessons, and the rest is history. I graduated from Wheaton Conservatory of Music with a degree in Piano Performance, and completed a Master's degree in Piano Performance at University of Redlands. I love to perform, have written several songs, with and without lyrics, produced three CD's all with original music I perform, and am now in the process of writing a musical. I love seeing people get touched with music and love to create and help others perform music that really speaks to the heart. It's my passion.
