Singing, Broadway Singing, Music Performance
I'm a 27 year old voice teacher, graduating from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Theatre Performance. I have been teaching voice for 3 years now and I couldn't be happier with my career! I love music, and I love being with children, so being a voice teacher is the best fit for me. I have participated in many theater companies in Rhode Island, most recently appearing as the lead female role in Rhode Island College's "Pippin". I have had ten years of vocal training with several voice teachers, so I know what it is like to be the student. Being a student for so long, I know what works and is helpful, and what doesn't work. I look forward to my lessons as a teacher, and I know you will look forward to our lessons too!
Acting, Singing, Broadway Singing, Music Performance, Opera Voice, Theater Acting
I hold a Masters Degree in Music from George Mason University. Since relocating to New England, I have been on stage at Theatre by the Sea, Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston, and The Granite Theatre. I can also be seen on the ABC TV show "Body of Proof".
A native of the Washington DC Metropolitan area, I have performed with the Washington Opera Company, at the Kennedy Center, and Historic Maryland's Adventure Theatre. New York City credits include performances off-Broadway for the York Theatre Company, CAP21, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
I have been a vocal teacher at the Dance Studio of Park Slope in Brooklyn, New York, in addition to coaching students privately. Previously, I taught at the Virginia Institute of the Performing Arts, was Musical Director for The Episcopal Diocese of Virginia's Music and Drama Camp and The Snow Camp Historical Drama Society. I have also taught in Prince William County and Stafford County Virginia Schools and served as a judge for the VTA Middle School One-Act play Competition, VCDA District IX Choral Festival, and the Stafford County Choral Society Scholarship competition. In 2008, I served on the production staff as musical director at the Astors' Beechwood Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island.
Proud Member of Actors Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the National Association of Teachers of Singers.

With an Ivy-league education and over a decade of singing and performing experience, I can offer both a skillful and intelligent approach to honing your instrument. I sing professionally with Opera Providence and Marley Bridges Theatre Co. in Newport. My program credentials include Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London.
Lessons will focus on what you desire. Unlike many teachers, I won't force you to study something you don't enjoy. I think there are many approaches to healthy and good singing, and I will tailor your coaching to fit the styles you enjoy performing. If you want to belt Carrie Underwood or Train, sing soulfully like Adele or Bruno Mars, bring the house down like Idina Menzel or Neil Patrick Harris, or create immortal art like Anna Netrebko or Pavarotti - I have the breadth of experience and training to help you achieve your dreams.
Singing, Opera Voice, Songwriting, Speaking Voice
I have trained many singers in colleges and theatres. Helped them with the coaching of their roles as well as giving a good, solid technique. I have over 30+ years experience of training singers and I always get results.
Around age three I realized what a singing voice was, during the Christmas Season. By age nine I saw my first performance: Phantom of the Opera. The next thing I knew, I was claiming to my friend's parents that I was an opera singer, screaming on their kitchen tables.
As I grew older, I harnessed this directionless passion and began taking voice lessons. I absolutely fell in love, and in fear, of the art as I watched myself consistently develop, and tried to process what pressures came along with the responsibility of cultivated a talent. Finally, by the end of my high school years I had to make a decision - logic or passion? I chose passion. I went on to receive my BA in Voice Performance at Providence College and then immediately into The Boston Conservatory for MM in Classical Voice Performance.
After years of schooling, stage experience, coachings, lessons and more, it wasn't until I put the music aside for a little while and truly dug into myself, as a person that my true voice began to unfold. I decided to focus on developing my mind, body and spirit through nutrition, exercise, and sleep patterns, as well as practices such as creative thinking journals, gratitude journals, meditation, and so much more. Suddenly, without my focus even being so, my voice began to mold and develop naturally. My confidence, my self love, my range, my creativity - all of it began to grow through this process of self examination and cultivation. At this point, I said to myself, "Why is it that I went through over 10 years of dedicated performance and schooling and no one told me these simple, holistic realities?" Vocal issues, perceived fears and negative mental set backs that I had been working on for years in practice rooms and through reading books and listening to lectures began to fall away with ease. It was then that I realized that my calling was to teach young artists the truth about being a vocalist, as well as a performer.
In my studio I teach the entire person, not just the voice. I will touch upon your lifestyle, your sleep cycles, your mind set, your nutrition - so on and so forth. We will uproot, integrate and mold YOU along with fine tuning your voice. Singing is much more vulnerable and sensitive than warm up exercises and repertoire. It is a mind set. It is a lifestyle. It is a sport. It is you. I am here to bring you out, and unleash the voice within.

"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
