About Jason

Hello, my name is Jason! I have been surrounded by music for my entire life. My father, a Berklee School of Music graduate, is an accomplished guitarist who introduced me to many forms of music as a child. At age seven he introduced me to Ringo Starr’s drum solo in “The End” by The Beatles and I knew that I wanted to learn to play percussion. Since that time, I have studied percussion theory and technique extensively with Shawn Green and Kevin Fortunato, both Berklee graduates. I studied film scoring, music theory, music history, and electronic composition at the Cambridge School of Weston under Gustavo-Assis Brasil (another Berklee graduate) and Michael Weinstein (the school’s music director and Berklee professor with an extensive list of degrees and ...

Aaron C. Providence, RI

About Aaron

*** Travel Equipment ***
To start, I supply all written teaching material. Drum students should have sticks and eventually brushes. I can provide some type of drums, depending on student desires and needs. Students wanting drum set lessons should have a drum set, unless they study at my facility. Piano students should have a keyboard or piano with full size keys.

*** Specialties ***
I also teach marimba and specialize in drum set, world drumming, and steel drumming.

I use a lot of self composed handouts to benefit students' needs, as well the Alan Dawson application methods of Ted Reed's Syncopation book for drum set.

"Experienced drum teacher of 12 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of rudiments and reading. I specialize in rock, funk, jazz, and world music. I use an assortment of books, mostly hand outs, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: sound recording equipment, sheet music, and more. Let's grab some sticks and rock and roll!"

About Aaron

Berklee College of Music graduate, Aaron M., has been teaching students of all ages for over 12 years.
"I love watching young musicians grow into seasoned players and have had tremendous success with all my students. I believe that learning songs and playing music is a critical element in the learning process of becoming a good drummer/pianist, and musician. This is why I bring a powered PA speaker, mp3 player, and (sometimes) a guitar to my lessons for the student to play along with and learn familiar songs. Over the years I've learned to strike a balance between Reading/Rudiments and Playing/having fun, so as to maintain students interests and growth."

My boys, ages 7 & 5, started piano lessons with Aaron a year ago. He has taught them technique & theory all while using songs they boys love. There are days that the boys are not the most cooperative. Aaron is amazingly patient and persistent in getting the boys to do their lessons. I really appreciate and have learned from this patience when it comes to the nightly practicing. I am pleased that the boys have been working with a male teacher and I think it really helps them relate to the music and the lessons. If you are looking for a patient yet knowledgeable piano teacher, I would definitely recommend Aaron.
Eric P. Foxboro, MA

About Eric

I wish to start by saying I am a proud father of two girls, currently 15 and 20 years old. I believe parenthood is an often overlooked attribute when seeking a teacher. Parents have nurtured their children since birth. I believe raising children only lends strength to a teachers ability to relate to, and understand a young student.

I have always divided my life between music and the pathways of helping others. In the music field I have done so by producing, recording, performing and teaching, and in helping others, I have achieved this through managing community based treatment facilities, ER hospital crisis intervention as a psychiatric clinician and counseling. Both endeavors have been most rewarding and these disciplines have given back to me as much as I have invested in ...
