About Jason

Hello, my name is Jason! I have been surrounded by music for my entire life. My father, a Berklee School of Music graduate, is an accomplished guitarist who introduced me to many forms of music as a child. At age seven he introduced me to Ringo Starr’s drum solo in “The End” by The Beatles and I knew that I wanted to learn to play percussion. Since that time, I have studied percussion theory and technique extensively with Shawn Green and Kevin Fortunato, both Berklee graduates. I studied film scoring, music theory, music history, and electronic composition at the Cambridge School of Weston under Gustavo-Assis Brasil (another Berklee graduate) and Michael Weinstein (the school’s music director and Berklee professor with an extensive list of degrees and ...

Marie-France M. Hyde Park, MA

Born and raised on New York Theatre, well studied in both Method and Technique. Have acted and directed in multiple medias. Was head director of two drama troupes. Have taught countless workshops to groups and have over thirty years experience as a private drama coach.

About Marie-France

I have taught piano and voice most of my adult life. Early on I learned the need to adapt my teaching style to the uniqueness of each student, especially those whose perceptions differ widely from the general populace. I love what I do, helping each student discover and nurture their abilities, no matter what age the student may be.

The Holistic Piano method is especially effective with my Autism-spectrum students, a segment of the population I find particularly rewarding to teach.

The following is a quote from ex-student Karena Krull, author of "Drama Made Easy", and "Rummy Roots."

“Her greatest strength is her ability to find the right direction for each individual. This ability to adapt to the student's needs lends to individual success ...

She's really good. I am just a beginner and I am making progress thanks to Marie-France. She gives out homework so you can improve and she tailors each lesson to the needs of that student. I would definitely recommend her to anyone interested in pursuing music.

Marissa S. Woonsocket, RI

About Marissa

I am a recent graduate of Rhode Island College with a degree in both Music and Musical Theatre. With my music degree, I strongly focused on musical theatre pedagogy as well as classical music. I also trained extensively in dance and acting which I believe has helped me tremendously when teaching voice. I also have studied piano for the past 10 years and continue to train in voice.

My approach to teaching, whether it be voice or piano, is one with care and concern for the student. Each student is an individual and will take in knowledge in different ways. I always like to cater my teaching to whatever the students needs are. This requires observation and experimentation on my part. When I find what works, it makes for a more productive lesson for my student and I. In voice, I have a ...

Excellent Teacher for my 6 year old Son

Marissa is a terrific piano teacher. She has tons of patience and a great way of connecting with my son. He is a 6 year old boy who is very active and she is able to hold his attention and keep him interested in piano. It has been incredible watching his skill and confidence levels grow after each visit with Marissa. I would highly recommend Marissa to anyone with a young child who wants to learn piano.

Stephanie W. Tiverton, RI

About Stephanie

With an Ivy-league education and over a decade of singing and performing experience, I can offer both a skillful and intelligent approach to honing your instrument. I sing professionally with Opera Providence and Marley Bridges Theatre Co. in Newport. My program credentials include Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London.

Lessons will focus on what you desire. Unlike many teachers, I won't force you to study something you don't enjoy. I think there are many approaches to healthy and good singing, and I will tailor your coaching to fit the styles you enjoy performing. If you want to belt Carrie Underwood or Train, sing soulfully like Adele or Bruno Mars, bring the house down like Idina Menzel or Neil Patrick Harris, or create immortal art ...

Broadway Singing
I love my voice teacher!

Stephanie is the BEST! I've been taking lessons with her for almost a year and I can tell I've improved a TON. And everyone else who hears me sing does too - they're always asking me if I've been taking lessons or something because I didn't used to sound that good but now I do. Stephanie's great, she has really fun exercises that make sense and are actually helpful, and she's super friendly!

Stephanie is awesome!

Stephanie helped me prep for several musical theater auditions in college, and we took regular lessons in between while she coached me on the roles I was getting. I took voice lessons in high school and already thought I was good, but Stephanie did one better. She really helped me sing higher than I thought I could - she had so many tricks and techniques for helping me reach notes I'd thought I couldn't sing. She's really creative, she can come up with a dozen different ways to tackle any problem. Loved working with her. Take from Stephanie if you can!!!

Singing
A teacher who really cares

I took lessons with Stephanie throughout college and loved her! She really helped me develop my voice and expand my range (I was singing mostly musical theater and pop). I'd sung a little bit before coaching with Stephanie but working regularly with her turned me into a real "singer." She improved my style a lot and helped me with auditions. After a little while, I started getting real solos and roles, not just chorus parts. Stephanie knows what she's doing and she will make you a better singer, no question.
Mia R. Norfolk, MA

Private acting lessons will be primarily focused on coaching audition materials and techniques. Materials include monologues, sides, scenes from plays, etc. Techniques include voice clarity and projection, enunciation, facial expression, emotion, character development, and more.

About Mia

I am a professional singer and actress with opera and musical theater credits. Singing is my passion! I love to sing, and I LOVE to teach others to sing! The human voice is the most natural instrument of all, and helping others to bring out the beauty of the natural instrument that lies within them is something to which I am very devoted. I like to make students feel comfortable and at ease in lessons, and you will find that I am very warm and friendly!

Every student is unique, with their own strengths, their own areas for improvement, and their own preference for certain styles of singing. I can help you find what style makes your heart sing!

I have a broad range of credits, including the Broadway National Tour of Fiddler On The Roof with Theodore Bikel (Tzeitel understudy), ...
