I have a Master’s in Opera Performance from the Boston and New England Conservatories as well as graduating from Vocal Performance programs at Boston University and Western Washington University. I have sung professionally with Boston Lyric Opera, Children’s Theater Companies, churches and synagogue and have toured on the east coast as well as Athens, Greece. Premiering new music is a specialty - I can help you prepare your pieces for auditions. My students have successful auditions for college opera and music theater programs, and as choir soloists.
Students gain a larger vocal range and an easy, natural way of singing whether it is in a rock band, choir or as a soloist. Together we find the joy of singing while building a solid technique.
I also work with small children as a Musikgarten teacher and have toured artist residency programs which introduce children to music and theater in schools. I was adjunct faculty at the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University, local music studios as well as maintaining my private teaching practice.

I have been a guitar and voice instructor for over 15 years. I really love this job! I had a real hard time learning guitar when I was growing up because of an accident to my left arm, but I wanted to play so much that I was able to overcome it. Because of this I think I have learned to be a very patient teacher. I see students who get frustrated and think that it's too hard to play the guitar, but I promise you my program is fun and simple.I can show you the steps to success. I have taught over 500 students in a variety of cities from Minneapolis Minnesota, to Los Angeles California, and now Portland Oregon. I am currently obtaining my Masters in Music education and spiritual psychology from Marylhurst, and I have taught every age from 5-65. I am also a performer, and I own my own music publishing company through ASCAP (American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers). I also currently teach Piano to level 2, so if you are a beginner, you will love my new program. Music is my life, I can help you make your dream of playing guitar or singing come true. You can do it!

Bass Guitar, Guitar, Music Performance, Music Recording, Percussion, Songwriting, Upright Bass
I have been playing professionally since I was 22 years old with various string instruments. With a few different bands I have played guitar, electric bass, upright bass, bass banjo, and other instruments across the U.S., Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
I love teaching one-on-one and helping students expand their musical horizons.
I'm comfortable with very many styles, and tailor my lessons to the students needs.
What kind of music or playing style are they passionate about?
That is what is important.
You should take lessons with me because there are very few people who do what I do (and not charge you an arm and a leg for lessons), and almost no one else who does what I do with my bass banjo. I really want to show people the style I have developed, and help them find their own.
"Steven is very professional and extremely helpful. He always has a smile on and is serious about helping you phrase the music. I would highly recommend him to anyone."
"It's been really exciting so far! Jordan has been so helpful, so knowledgeable. I could not have found a better instructor and I'm getting better and better every day."
"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
