I have a master's degree in teaching English to other language speakers, and Bachelors in Music Education, both from Florida Atlantic University.

I teach music for over 24 years using the traditional and Suzuki methods. I am fan of Essential Elements 2000 for violin, viola or cello, and the Alfreds Piano Library for piano. Alfred's piano library can be used for any age as hey also have books especially made for adult learners.I personalize every lesson, and always set goals for my students. Most of my violin students are members of the Florida Youth Orchestra and my piano students participate in Pompano Beach copetition and the annual Piano Guild.

I am currectly a violist at Florida Atlantic University seeking my bachelors in Music Education. I have received the highest honors in state competitions and I have had the pleasure of working with some of the top university orchestras in the southeast, including the University of South Florida Symphony Orchestra and the University of Tampa Orchestra. I have also been fortunate enough to study with some of the great nationally and internationally known Suzuki instructors, whose knowledge and techniques I will share with my students. I love to teach music as much as I love to perform.
As a young girl I began taking private piano lessons which eventually led me to participate in the string program at my Elementary School. Not knowing anything about string instruments I was handed a Cello by the Conductor, and I've been playing ever since!
I joined the local symphony GMYS (Greater Miami Youth Symphony) throughout my highschool career which not only boosted my orchestral playing but was a great motivation to continue playing.
In the midst of my college career I became inspired to share my knowledge of music with young players.
My goal as a teacher is to motivate and inspire students with music whether they're beginning or advanced players, and of any age.

Alicia has been playing the violin since she can remember thanks to her very talented musical family. Because of their efforts she received her first exposure to loving and teaching music at an early age through attending and later assisting her mother's Suzuki string program. They also afforded her the opportunity to learn with some of the finest violin teachers Miami has to offer.
A proud alumni of Miami's public arts programs, including those of Southwood Middle School, Coral Reef Senior High and the Greater Miami Youth Symphony, Alicia encourages all of her school-age students to explore their options of participating in the various youth arts organizations in the community.
In addition to her 15+ years training in violin technique and classical repertoire, she also has had almost 10 years of classical piano instruction and has had the privilege to perform classical, jazz, blues, latin and pop music from coast to coast and in Europe.
