Guitar, Music Performance, Music Recording, Music Theory, Songwriting
I began playing guitar around the age of 13, and took an interest in songwriting/composition in high school. I took guitar lessons on and off for years, and studied jazz guitar on a more serious level going into and during college. I studied composition under Dr. Patrick Burke at Duquesne University, and have custom tailored my learning experience towards my passion, video game and film music.
I have an extensive knowledge of music theory, as well as a fairly comprehensive knowledge of music technology, at least as far as it pertains to my field of video game and film music composition. I also have experience writing more commercially accessible pop/rock music, and bring that knowledge to the lesson table as well. I do not have much experience teaching, but I would love to use all the musical knowledge I have to help anyone who wants to learn!

I am currently a 3rd-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh and I have a strong educational background in mathematics, general sciences, and all around academics. I have also been a musician for 12 years of my life. Drumset and percussion are my strongest areas in music but I am also adequately skilled at guitar and singing. I have experience performing with a wide array of diverse music groups such as the Pitt Drumline (Center Snare), Concert Band, Men's Glee Club, and many local musicians that are in need of a drumset player. I have a strong passion for teaching and would love nothing more than for my students to excel.

I have been classically trained in piano and have played for over 20 years. I also have classical and jazz training in guitar at Shenandoah University. Many years experience in the recording industry, producing, mixing and mastering countless records. I am Pro Tools Certified and even studied in France with world famous engineer, Jimmy Douglass. Above all else I love the music. You can still catch me playing along to Led Zeppelin records trying to learn every detail of the solos. My lessons have a heavy influence on theory. I want my students to understand WHY a certain lick works, or WHY this mixing technique is best. Hope to hear from you soon.
"Steven is very professional and extremely helpful. He always has a smile on and is serious about helping you phrase the music. I would highly recommend him to anyone."

"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
