Excellent Lessons

After 40 years, I decided I wanted to learn how to play the piano. James has been an excellent teacher, taking me from knowing nothing at all about the piano to being able to play short songs. I look forward to practice and to my lessons every week.

James is patient, encouraging, and always offers helpful suggestions. Highly recommended!

I'm getting my degree in Saxophone Performance, and specialize in classical saxophone.

About Joseph

I grew up in music, and started playing the piano when I was 6 years old, and began composing and using Logic Pro two years after that. I have been playing saxophone for 8 years, and am currently working to gain my bachelors degree in music performance from California State University, Fullerton. During my saxophone instruction I also began learning clarinet as a supplementary instrument, and have been playing it for 3 years. What I love about music the most, is how deep it resonates with the human soul and how the music stems from the passion of the composer and the performer.

I feel that my job as a teacher is to instill a sense of passion and love for music in my students, in addition to teaching them the instrument and the rudiments of music. I also am a strong believer that the ...

He takes the time to learn the song I want to learn before hand and write it all out with strumming patterns and notes. He makes it really easy to understand. I feel my improvement already.

My daughter took lessons from Ben for several years while he was at FSU and she was just starting out on saxophone in Middle School. Ben is the best. He taught in our home which was very convenient for us and I credit Ben with really keeping my daughter interested in music generally and saxophone specifically. He is a very talented teacher. Ben is patient but also knows how to motivate his students. In addition to saxophone, Ben taught my daughter guitar. Because of Ben's guidance, my daughter made the All District Band in 8th grade and just began her freshman year of high school as the highest seated freshman saxophone player. She also auditioned for, and made, the high school jazz band as a freshman. I highly recommend Ben as a saxophone instructor.
