I teach a lot of the students favorite's songs in my lessons, or whatever the student may be interested in learning. I try and keep the lessons fun, and this seems to work in keeping students interested in the lessons.

About Alfredo

Hi! My name is Al! I've been playing drums for about 11 years now, I started playing at the age of 12 when my parents bought me my first drum set. Since then drumming has been my life, everything from playing in numerous bands, drum competitions, private teaching, and National US Tours. Leaving my home town of Brownsville, TX behind, I moved out to L.A Summer of 2008 to attend the Los Angeles Music Academy, where I received my Associates Degree in Music Performance. I currently teach private lessons and I gig around town with various artists. I have lots of musical knowledge that Iv'e obtained by studying with LA's Top Drummers. Really enjoy the lessons. Makes learning the fundamentals fun. Very patient and enthusiastic. Also, he's making learning how to read music fun, which in the past I've hated learning about, but am now enjoying. He's very encouraging.

He was very kind and patient with my Trinity. The lessons was supposed to be for my 6 yr old, but it didn't work out, it seem to Alfredo bother him he just offered to teach my other daughter instead, great way to "roll with the punches".

About Jan

Learning an instrument in a music recording studio environment has many advantages and is a lot more fun, creative and rewarding. From your teacher jumping on different instruments
for you to develop your independence and timing as a player and
recording prepared projects you've been working on,
to playing at a higher volume to get to know your gear's real sound, the rocking' memories you'll walk away with will fuel your inspiration to practice and improve fast. My focus is to help you achieve your goals on the guitar.

With each individual student, I offer exercises, songs and techniques to practice that will help you to immediately begin seeing positive results. I believe that anyone can play an instrument and sing and take their next step in music. It makes a ...

Super Happy

I am currently a drum student of Jan's and I couldn't be happier. He is a really great teacher. He obviously cares a lot about what he does and he is very good at understanding what each student needs individually to keep moving forward at a pace that is right for the student. He strikes an excellent balance between keeping the fun part of music alive (playing music!) and making sure that you receive solid technique instruction as well. He is super excellent at helping you understand how the things you are learning will build together over time (this helps a lot when some things are frustrating to make your body and mind do at first). You do have to do some exercises, but his focus is all related to working towards having fun and playing music. If you're a drum student, even as you're getting your first beats down he plays guitar with you right away (the first lesson in my case). It's really terrific to get a feeling for what it's like to play with other people from the very beginning. I can be self conscious about doing things around other people before I feel like I know what I'm doing. Playing with him right from the beginning helped me toss that aside without it taking hold of me this time, because, well, it's pretty darn fun to be completely honest. If you take lessons from Jan I am pretty sure you will feel very fortunate, as I do, to have found such talented and supportive instructor.

Speaking for Malcolm: Malcolm is enjoying the lesson sessions with Jan. Speaking for myself: I appreciate him always being timely and teaching my son by using the type of music that he is interested in. This helps him to stay interested and motivates him to practice.

About Till

In his early years of drumming, Till had the privilege of studying with Benny Greb, Jost Nickel and Stephan Emig. Till is an amazing instructor. Always courteous and professional, he's never been late and always goes the extra mile to cater to my specific needs. He is quick to adapt his material and pace to my progress level and my personal goals. He is also very observant and notices and corrects even the most minor errors in posture and technique that inhibit me from realizing my fullest drumming potential.

Before I started my lessons with Till, I considered just learning drums on my own from watching YouTube videos but I felt that it was important to my progress to have a seasoned professional noticing and helping me with my personal weaknesses and answering all my specific questions (I have so many!). My thoughts were confirmed from the very first lesson - there were SO MANY things I learned about that I had never picked up from the countless videos I've seen (especially the smaller details no one bothers to cover) and my knowledge base has been rapidly growing with Till. Sometimes I almost feel like I ask TOO many questions but not only has Till been super patient, he always provides a satisfying and insightful answer.

I've never had a single regret in my decision to pay for drum lessons and I'm grateful to have met a teacher as fun and as knowledgeable as Till.
