Sami C. Puyallup, WA

Been a successful songwriter for many years, it takes a lot of work, but it is rewarding.

About Sami

My name is Sami, I am so very passionate about music. I write songs for a wonderful rock band named Blue Helix. When I'm not rocking out with the band I enjoy teaching others how to play guitar, Sing with power and enthusiasm, and stage presence. I have many years experience teaching music, mainly guitar and vocals. The trick i find is to first off teach timing, and teach Pitch. Performance comes with confidence. I have many different methods on how to train my students, but I have an advantage because i have a recording studio at my backside. With that I have all the equipment and lighting needed to set up a fun and realistic environment for a student to develop their music passions. I look forward to teaching you.

David is an outstanding instructor! My son is 5 years old and loves him. My son is occasionally a difficult child with his own special quirks, but David is so patient and observant and tailors the lessons as we go along week to week to keep my son engaged, encouraged and learning. I also have two younger children who must tag along to the lesson and even they are excited during the lessons and are already asking when they start their lessons! We will be starting at least one more child's lessons with him during this coming school year! He is great!

I have been teaching voice and music lessons for several years now to a wide range and variety of students. Best teacher ever

JP has been teaching Mya for almost 2 years (since she was 6 years old) and Mya has been loving each lesson, can't wait for the next one, and has grown in many ways, that have exceeded our expectations.
JP is extremely patient, always positive, and knows how to reinforce the confidence whenever needed, provide clues for improvement that are very useful and positive. JP is an outstanding teacher.
The lessons are always a good mix of warming up, theory, singing, expressing emotions, new creations and also recording.
JP brings the best out of Mya, and makes her feel that he is also enjoying it.

Will is a highly knowledgeable and relatable instructor

With Will’s patience and easy instruction I am slowly learning the instrument that I love. Will is always prepared for our session with hand outs and a lesson plan. I appreciate that he is willing to take our lesson in a different direction then originally planned depending on my progression. His style is very laid back while still having expectations of your development which is nice because this pushes me to do the work. I highly recommend Will as your instructor.

Will has been amazing with my 12yr old , sooo patient! Cant be easy to teach a 12yr old girl but she is doing great and looks forward to each lesson. He commands a get to work attitude and structure to keep her on track and focused through out the lesson. I would highly highly recommend Will.

Songwriting is different than composition. The main difference would be that songwriting combines lyrics with musical accompaniment in harmonizing the two. Also, songwriting is synonymous with pop music whereas composition is not.

Despite this broad explanation, songwriting is as rewarding as composing. After learning some theory and songwriting form, I can guarantee that you'll be surprised with your new craft.

About Kay

I fell in love with music at a very young age. Perhaps occurring while seated in the very back of my moms Datsun 510 station wagon during a mildly warm and smoggy Los Angeles afternoon. While my mom ran a quick errand, I vividly remember being consumed by a radio pop tune left on for us kids to enjoy. It was during this moment that I recall consciously thinking - "I want to do that". Whatever "that" was remained to be seen....

Despite "wanting to do that", I wasn't taken serious when my mom arrived back in the car. Arriving to a son yelling "I wanna do that", "make it louder", I wanna do that". She laughed. This while probably reflecting back on those other occasions in which I insisted on being a ...

Joshua O. Tacoma, WA

I have been an accomplished songwriter for over twenty years. Along with national recognition for the international songwriting competition, I have had songs placed in T.V. shows such as One Tree Hill as well as in movies such as Cruel Intentions 3 and major radio play. I offer a hybrid lesson of singing and songwriting if my students would like.

About Joshua

If you have always wanted to learn to sing, then now is your chance to start. Do not wait another day for another excuse. I not only teach my students to be good singers, I teach them to be confident singers. If you are nervous about taking steps to becoming a singer, you are not alone. I was once in your shoes and I can help you no matter your skill level.
