I have been teaching music for the past 20 years, I offer guitar, bass, piano and voice lessons. I am a professional musician who performs live on a regular basis under the stage name of Pistol Pete. I have toured in Japan, Poland and Italy. Music is more than a hobby. For me, it is my passion. I have had three students that continued their studies at Berklee College after taking lessons from me. Whether you are a beginning musician or in an advanced stage of learning, I can customize a lesson plan that will meet your needs. Music should always be a joyful experience, whether you are listening to it or learning to play it. I have won many guitar competitions including a Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Competition sponsored by the Jimi Hendrix Foundation, Chicago Guitar Slinger competition, and an International Blues competition. I am blessed to be able to do what I love, every day.

I am a musician, composer, and producer of television and film scores, teaching college courses in music production, composition, and private piano studies. My students range from beginners to piano teachers.

I am an experienced musician and teacher with a sense of humor, who can relate to people from all walks of life because of all my varied positions. I have been a music teacher in the public school system, taught piano and organ privately at my studio for many years, had numerous positions as a church organist and choir director. and worked for a professional music organization as a Production Editor. I grew up in Chicago, then moved to Colorado and later Montana. In 2005, I moved back to Chicago and have been here ever since.

I have attended Chicago State University, where I received a B.S. in Education (music emphasis), The American Conservatory of Music in Chicago where I received an M.M., The University of Colorado at Boulder, where I was a doctoral student in Music, and finally I received the Doctorate degree in Music Performance at The American Conservatory of Music in 2005.
