I have been teaching drum set for five years and have worked to help students of all ages learn to play. As teacher I work with individual students to set goals for their playing and develop the skills necessary to meet those goals. Beyond learning basic beats for different styles I teach students the importance of a steady tempo, proper feel or swing for each style, and general musical concepts that will help students on any instrument and in any musical setting. Depending on the individual students goals I also teach students to rhythmic notation drum set charts.
