I love teaching! How incredible it is to aid people in the joy of music, build their confidence, and help them sing with ease and comfort! I’m a classical vocal performance graduate from Belmont University. I have sung all over the world, as a soloist with a mission’s organization The New America Singers. We sang in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Russia and Germany, with our largest audience being over 6,000 people. I have performed several solo concerts in Germany, directed Children's Musicals, and have been teaching private voice at home studio, the YMCA in Brentwood, as well as at Ezell Harding. Teaching voice is something that I am passionate about. I had some vocal health issues when I was younger, but thankfully I had an incredible teacher who not only helped me fix them but also taught me how to help others. I do not teach children under the age of 12 because their voices are not developed enough, and so it can cause them more harm as they get older. Many of my vocal issues that I had to work though was because I started to young, and I do not want your kids to have to go through that. I have been teaching the past few years, and have enjoyed every minute of it. I am excited to be able to help students who wish to improve their vocal abilities. Whether it is for the pursuit of a singing career, correction of vocal issues, if you have always wanted to sing on key, or you just want to sound better, I can help you accomplish your goals.

I am passionate about Music and Music Education. It's rewarding for me to watch my students develop in their musical skill and enjoy making music more and more. My students range from the very young (4 years old) to school age children, to teens, and adults. My students benefit from my expertise in teaching Vocal and Piano music, my knowledge of Music Theory, and my encouraging teaching style. I have been involved in making music since I was a young child, and I have been teaching private students since I was a Music major at the University of Florida in 1982 when a fellow college student asked me to teach her voice lessons. I have a Music Education degree from the University of Florida; my major instrument was Voice, my minor was Piano. I taught as a public school music educator in Florida, California, and Tennessee between the years of 1983 to 1997. I taught private students after school in my classroom while I was a public school teacher, and from my home since 1997. My post-graduate continuing professional education includes Tennessee Arts Academy at Belmont University, Kodaly Pedagogy and Solfege Level 1 (vocal teaching techniques, do-re-mi, ear training), Orff-Schulwerk Music for Children Level 1 certification, Yamaha M.I.E. (Music In Education) Piano Lab certification. My professionalism and expertise are at your service. I will work together with you to insure an enjoyable and informative learning experience.
