Guitar, Piano, Singing, Music Performance, Music Theory
Music has been an integral part of my world, playing a major role in both my personal and professional life. I embrace the chance to be immersed in it, to share my enthusiasm for and expertise in the area of the music education experience, promoting creative development and student performance skills.
I am an original New Yorker, but have lived in Virginia Beach for the past 12 years. I began studying piano at the age of 8 and have not stopped playing since. It is a gift and a joy to be able to share my love of music performance with people of all ages and abilities. I have also sung in many choirs in addition to performing professionally on the piano and the guitar, both as a soloist and ensemble member.
I rejoice in the success that I see in my students as they learn and gain appreciation for the gift of music. They become more and more eager to share and more and more open to the possibilities ahead.

I would consider myself a lifelong student of the humanities. I have been in continuous study of piano, voice and the performing arts since I was 4 years old. Growing up in a very musically enthusiastic house I had all the support from the beginning with my endeavors. During my years at Emory & Henry College I studied all aspects of the arts while achieving a degree in Musical Theatre. I have had the privilege to be able to perform for President Bill Clinton, Pope John Paul II, and many Broadway stars such as Evalyn Baron (Les Miserables) and director John Giampetro. I have also traveled to South Korea where I spent about 15 months teaching English, theatre and music to a vast amount of students ranging from the age of 3 to 50+. In my post undergraduate studies I have partaken in conservatory classes at the Shakespeare Theatre and Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C. Currently I sing with the Emmanuel Church Choir and Chamber Choir at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Kempsville, Virginia. There I am also involved with the hand bell choir, Joyful Noise and I am the Music Teacher at Emmanuel Day School for Pre-K students. I was accepted into Old Dominion University and started my studies this summer to receive my B.M. in Music Education in 2015. At ODU I was invited into the University Choir and Madrigal Singers, both with scholarship.
Piano, Singing, Flute
The area of Music Education is indeed the most fulfilling teaching experience to me. In general, I think back on my music classes and experienced the greatest joy imaginable because of giving insight to students and imparting a vision of musical excellence. Starting with fundamentals and rudimentary methods of teaching, encompassed with love, trust, and virtue imparted to the student, did, spark the greatest student-teacher relationships. To give a student liberty to pursue their dreams while undergoing their levels of abilities, accomplishments and development, is the ultimate achievement and desire of my heart. I currently hold a B.S. Degree in Music Education. Also, I held first chair flute in the 590th Air Force Band of the East, McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey.
