Danilo is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Long Island, New York and currently based out of Boston. He has maintained an active and successful performing career as a member of the groups Debo Band, The Superpowers, Rubblebucket, Full Tang and Watchout Kompa.
Danilo has studied classical trumpet performance at the New England Conservatory of Music with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra as well as percussion and drums with other esteemed faculty members (Rakalam Bob Moses, Jamey Haddad). In addition to his conservatory training, Danilo has studied traditional West African drumming at the Dagbe Cultural Center in Kopeyia, Ghana.
Danilo has performed at many of the premier venues and festivals throughout North America including: Bonnaroo, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Bumbershoot, Montreal Jazz Festival, Montana Folk Festival, Globalfest, SXSW and Luminato.
Education has long been a passion for Danilo and he has been teaching private music lessons as well as instruction in the Boston public schools for years. Danilo teaches all levels and ages. His students value his patience and ability to find an inspiring path to discovery for each individual. Danilo has also shown himself to be very effective in the classroom setting. He has been a general music teacher in the BPS as well as teaching master classes and clinics at music schools and universities around the country.
In January 2014, Danilo was invited as a guest artist and educator at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul where he taught and performed for young afghan music students.
Danilo considers his success as a performer to be in a direct relationship with the success of his teaching and he aims to spread to the joy of music making and appreciation as wide as possible.

My teaching style is relaxed and supportive while always aiming to increase the knowledge of the student. My strong technical background combined with a deep sense for wide-ranging musical styles allows me to find what inspires a student initially and use their interests and strengths to lead them to new discovery and technical efficiency.
While I hope to facilitate a passion for making music in my students in any way possible, I continue to relate their training to body awareness and building good playing habits.
While each individual learns at a different pace, I strive to point out the progress my students have made because I find this recognition of achievement, no matter how small, is essential in a student's continued love of studying music.

I hope to encourage and build you up in whatever challenge we decide to tackle. Whether you are starting out for the first time or you have been playing for a while, I'm here to push you, to see you grow and to learn things as well. I love working with both children and young adults. My students say that I'm fun, I run lessons in an exciting manner, and I love making music.
I'm a senior music education major at Gordon College (Wenham, MA) and have been teaching privately for the past 2-2.5 years. I will be obtaining my Bachelor of Music in Music Education in May 2015.

If you are interested in studying racquetball, you are required to come to Gordon College for your lesson. All other lessons are to be in the students' home or online, unless an arrangement is worked out between myself and the individual student.
Students must provide their own instruments.
If necessary, method books must also be purchased upon discussion with the instructor within the first two weeks of lessons.

Breanna has been teaching piano and horn to inquisitive minds of all ages for over ten years. From teaching neighborhood kids and accompanying local choirs and music students, to being studio accompanist at the University of Kansas and fourth horn for the Topeka Symphony Orchestra in her undergraduate years, to her current days as collaborative pianist for the New England Conservatory Preparatory School and freelance hornist in the Boston area, Breanna has a novel's worth of musical experiences that provides a rare, all-encompassing look at teaching and the life of being a musician.
------------Musical and Teaching Philosophy------------
Through all these experiences, I can safely say that my theory of teaching and learning music is that it's all about connections. To learn music is to learn a completely new way of looking at the world. It is an inward journey of strength and discovery as much as it is an outwards one, learning to successfully and compassionately communicate with fellow musicians and anyone else who might cross your path. I have collaborated with individuals in both the instrumental and vocal realms - trumpet, trombone, tuba, (French) horn, clarinet, flute, violin, viola, bass, sopranos, mezzo-sopranos, baritones, and have taught piano, horn, and beginning/intermediate wind instruments in both private and group settings. I love music, and even more, I love teaching music!
Breanna E. is a dynamic and highly sought-after horn player in the Boston metro area. Of her debut performance as principal horn with the New England Conservatory Philharmonia, wonderful solos came “especially from Breanna E., who intoned the essential horn part with nobility.” (Boston Musical Intelligencer) Of an exposed, pre-concert lecture-demonstration with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, “that of the very low notes of the fourth horn part in the Overture to Der Freisch�tz, [were] excellently sounded by Breanna E..” (Boston Musical Intelligencer) Miss E. has played with numerous groups, including Boston Ballet, the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and the East Coast Scoring Orchestra, to name a few. Most recently, she served as principal horn with MetroWest Opera for their production of H�nsel und Gretel and currently, she acts as section coach in the Boston Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.
Equally at home in symphonic, opera, and chamber music worlds alike, Miss E. has performed in music festivals across Europe and the United States. In 2011, she served as principal horn at the Eutiner Opernfestspiele in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She attended the Colorado College Music Festival in summer 2012, and later that summer attended the Ameropa Chamber Music Festival in Prague, Czech Republic. While in Prague, Miss E. performed with an international chamber group that took second place in Ameropa's International Concertante Competition. The quartet performed Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante K295b in the Czech Philharmonic's Rudolfinum, Dvoř�k Hall with Camerata Filarmonica Bohemia.
Having performance degrees in both horn and piano from the University of Kansas, Miss E. attended the Cortona Sessions for New Music in Cortona, Italy as a pianist in 2010. There, she met kindred spirits amongst the composers attending and later that year, invited them to Kansas to hear their commissions performed by her brass quintet, the Lawrence 5. The concert served as both premieres of their works and as a benefit concert to aid in the building of schools for girls in Pakistan and Afghanistan through the Central Asia Institute. While at the University of Kansas, Miss E. was a recipient of the Zakoura Collaborative Pianist Scholarship. Much of her pianistic time was spent collaborating with instrumentalists and vocalists from all realms, often in premieres of new works by colleagues in composition. Regarding hornistic studies while studying at KU, Miss E. was assistant then fourth horn of the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, the first job she won at age 20.
Miss E. is currently pursuing her master's degree at New England Conservatory, studying with James Sommerville. She received her undergraduate degrees from the University of Kansas in horn performance, studying with Paul Stevens, and piano performance, studying with Jack Winerock. Miss E. continues to be a collaborative pianist both at the NEC Preparatory School and in the Boston area, playing for Suzuki classes and private lessons. When not pursuing musical endeavors, she enjoys creating raw desserts, planning her worldwide backpacking trip, and learning mad, Balkan rips to busk with on accordion.
