When I turned 8 years old, I began piano lessons. I started violin
at 9 and trombone at 10. I am now proficient on the guitar, bass, and piano. Having completed my tour of duty in the U.S. Army, I am currently on the Dean's list as a music/audio production major, and plan to continue my music education until I earn at least a masters in performance and composition. I started my teaching career at Milestones in Music, a local studio, as an independent contractor, where i was able to gain valuable experience and fine tune my curriculum. I am a member of the Grammy U Recording Academy, and have had opportunities to work with a lot of different musicians. (The Recording Academy is the organization that ...

Mike's approach is to use the student's own musical tastes to develop an appreciation for the instrument. If you like rock, you learn by playing rock. If you like jazz, you learn by playing jazz. Mike's approach makes it painless to learn to read, train your ear and develop monster chops quickly.

I have experience teaching from ages 5-adults in all different styles and am in my last year at Moravian College as a double major in music composition and jazz performance. Depending what you want, lessons can easygoing and relaxing, but could also be theory-intensive, involve prep-work for auditions, and lead to improvising and composition (most importantly, they will be fun and motivating!). Lessons are given at my private studio in Coplay, PA. If you are within 3 miles from my studio, I am willing to travel to ...
I am 38 years old, and have been a musician for over 25 years. I began, like many, playing in my middle school band. I attended a Performing Arts School throughout my high school years, where I studied Classical and Jazz Guitar, Music Theory, Ear Training, and many other facets of music. I also studied privately with various guitar instructors, most notable Kyle Hildenbrand, a Berklee grad and film scorer for Universal Studios. In college I also took education and psychology classes which have proven very helpful in my approach to teaching.
I have performed in many ensembles and bands, playing both cover songs and writing original music. Blues, country, hard-rock, and even a jazz quartet. Currently I write for and perform in a folk - rock trio.
