Singing is what I do and singing is what I teach! I have taught people to sing for six years. Students of all ages and genders have learned to improve their tone, range, breath support, and general efficiency in singing while studying with me. Lessons are fun and structured around principals of vocal health. Whatever your needs, we will find ways to tackle them together! I look forward to hearing from you!

About Kyle

I am a professional singer and voice instructor. I have taught lessons for almost six years and love doing it! I have taught both genders and all ages (truly). I have earned three music degrees in vocal performance from the Universities of Missouri, Michigan, and Yale.

If you are looking for comfortable and engaging lessons with a practicing, studied professional, I encourage you to contact me!

Kyle is a wonderful voice teacher! He is extremely talented himself and is skilled at identifying what a student needs to work on/improve and how to do so. Often he uses fun, effective vocal/physical exercises (doing them alongside you so that you don't feel silly) to overcome whatever issue may be in the way and teach our body to produce the vocal sound it was made to produce. You will come away from lessons with Kyle stronger and more confident as a vocalist. Furthermore, he's just fun to work with -- extremely personable, friendly, and funny. Don't miss out on lessons with him!

Vocal Training · In studio
About four years ago, following the death of my wife of 47 years, I decided to take voice lessons with the young woman who directed the church choir in which I sang. My decision to do this was based on a desire to become a better choir member, and, more importantly, I saw it as an additional way to manage the grief I felt following the death of my spouse. The young woman I chose turned out to be extremely proficient technically, kind and very important for a man in his 70s, patient. After a year, I was disappointed to learn that my instructor would move to New York City with her husband. Where will I ever find someone as suited for me as she was? I asked myself. She answered the question for me by referring me to Kyle. After my first lesson it was apparent that he was every bit as kind, technically excellent and patient as the teacher I had lost.

Typically a lesson with Kyle began with some stretching exercises, followed by breathing practice, singing notes, and then singing selected pieces. Although Kyle's training and performance is in classical music, he was able to help me with church music and other songs. Best of all, occasionally, after one of our lessons, he and I would go out for appetizers and a glass of wine. This provided not only an opportunity to review what we had covered in the lesson, but also to become better acquainted with each other. Which in turn helped him to be better able to understand some of the issues I faced and to help me overcome them through music. It was quite unusual, I thought, for someone as young as he to be willing and able to mentor me in that fashion.

Although I was saddened when Kyle left for Yale, I continue to feel blessed that Divine Providence brought him into my life just when I needed him, and I lend unconditional support for him as a music teacher.

I am a certified Vocal Instructor in the Institute for Vocal Advancement or 'IVA'. It is an institution that focuses on giving teachers the knowledge and tools to allow their students to sing from the bottom to the top of their voice with health, ease, balance, strength and tone quality in all genres of music. In this organization all teachers have to accomplish education hours, classes and testing each year to remain certified and advance in the instructor levels. I apply every bit of this knowledge to all of my student's and their lessons. The technique I am trained in works miracles and shows results after just one lesson!
