I am an all around musician who loves to share my knowledge and passion for music with others. I find it just as important to know how to teach someone as it is to know about the instrument you are teaching.
As far as my performance experience, I have a Masters in World Music Performance from California Institute of the Arts and a Bachelors in Percussion Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College (Ithaca, NY). I has also studied traditional Irish music at the University of Limerick (Ireland). I have been a guest drum set soloist with the San Diego State Javanese Gamelan and a guest musician with the Yelle-Belle Dance Ensemble in New York City. I have collaborated with such artists as Barry Goldberg (Bob Dylan), Bonnie Pointer (The Pointer Sisters/Solo Artist), James Galway (flute soloist), and Alex Del Zoppo (Sweetwater). I hav enjoyed performing with ensembles in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and REDCAT. My teachers include Gordon Stout, Alan Abel, Tim Genis, Tom Gauger, John Bergamo, John Joe Kelly, and Randy Gloss. I was the Principal Timpanist for the West Covina Symphony from 2008-2010. Currently I am the Studio Drummer at Melrose Music Studios in Hollywood and the drummer for Los Angeles based bands Lizzy Williams and The Learning System. I am also is a section percussionist for The Orchestra Unleashed, an orchestra specializing in Contemporary Classical music. I can be heard on Bonnie Pointer's new release "Like A Picasso" (Universal Music Group)
I am the band director/music teacher at Holliston High School and have been teaching privately since 1999.

I enjoy working with students ages 5-adult. I use a mix of method books, video, and audio examples in my teaching. I have a curriculum that I stick to, but I like to see what the student is interested in learning about as well and working that into our lessons. For drum students, I start every student on a practice pad first before moving on to drum set and each student must learn orchestral and rudimentary snare drum techniques even if they are just interested in drum set. Learning to read music and music theory are also covered during lessons and are required learning.
A first lesson for a beginning drummer will cover how to hold the sticks properly and an introduction to reading music. We will also watch video clips of famous drummers and we will discuss who your favorite musicians/bands are so that we can cover those interests during future lessons.

Danilo is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Long Island, New York and currently based out of Boston. He has maintained an active and successful performing career as a member of the groups Debo Band, The Superpowers, Rubblebucket, Full Tang and Watchout Kompa.
Danilo has studied classical trumpet performance at the New England Conservatory of Music with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra as well as percussion and drums with other esteemed faculty members (Rakalam Bob Moses, Jamey Haddad). In addition to his conservatory training, Danilo has studied traditional West African drumming at the Dagbe Cultural Center in Kopeyia, Ghana.
Danilo has performed at many of the premier venues and festivals throughout North America including: Bonnaroo, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Bumbershoot, Montreal Jazz Festival, Montana Folk Festival, Globalfest, SXSW and Luminato.
Education has long been a passion for Danilo and he has been teaching private music lessons as well as instruction in the Boston public schools for years. Danilo teaches all levels and ages. His students value his patience and ability to find an inspiring path to discovery for each individual. Danilo has also shown himself to be very effective in the classroom setting. He has been a general music teacher in the BPS as well as teaching master classes and clinics at music schools and universities around the country.
In January 2014, Danilo was invited as a guest artist and educator at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul where he taught and performed for young afghan music students.
Danilo considers his success as a performer to be in a direct relationship with the success of his teaching and he aims to spread to the joy of music making and appreciation as wide as possible.

My teaching style is relaxed and supportive while always aiming to increase the knowledge of the student. My strong technical background combined with a deep sense for wide-ranging musical styles allows me to find what inspires a student initially and use their interests and strengths to lead them to new discovery and technical efficiency.
While I hope to facilitate a passion for making music in my students in any way possible, I continue to relate their training to body awareness and building good playing habits.
While each individual learns at a different pace, I strive to point out the progress my students have made because I find this recognition of achievement, no matter how small, is essential in a student's continued love of studying music.

Primarily a drummer/percussionist, Jeff B. has been studying, performing, and teaching music for 15 years. Working mostly as a free improviser, rock, and jazz musician, Jeff has been performing in and around Boston and the Northeast for the past two years in a variety of bands. He has been actively involved in the Boston underground rock and experimental music scene, playing in and around the city in venues and house shows playing drums, percussion, keyboards, and electronics. He has toured regionally and nationally.
Teaching Philosophy: Learning to listen, open ears, and creative musicality are the end goals for all students. Learning technique is simply a stepping stone toward those goals. Students will discuss the music that moves them and will explore how to make it. Lessons will guide students with fundamentals and larger concepts to help move toward a broad, exciting musical life.
Jeff graduated from New England Conservatory in 2013 with a Master's in Contemporary Improvisation. He studied with Joe Morris, Anthony Coleman, Fred Buda, and others. He completed his undergraduate studies in Studio Music & Jazz at the University of Miami Frost School of Music in 2010.

I am a drummer, percussionist and educator in the Boston area. I currently play in a highly recognized rock/pop group and tour nationally. I also play in a cover band at local bars and clubs around Boston and Massachusetts and do studio work for nationally recognized artists. I hold a degree from Penn State University and also have extensive experience playing and teaching drumline's ranging from collegiate to professional DCI and WGI lines outside of my traditional drumset study.
I have established a solid client base in my studio located in Allston, MA, on the outskirts of Boston. I work with drummers, hand percussionists, marching percussionists and lovers of the arts of all ages and skill levels looking to expand their knowledge in a large range of styles and techniques including: rock, pop, jazz, latin, funk, R&B, gospel, metal, fusion, punk, blues.
I'm also highly experienced as an online instructor and work with students on Google+ & Skype to establish their rudimental proficiency. Online lessons are taught on drum pads (with sticks) or hand drums.

I am a composer, drummer, organizer, and recent BM graduate of the Boston Conservatory, having studied contemporary composition under Andy Vores, Jan Swafford, and Curtis Hughes. I was trained mostly as a jazz and rock drummer before attending the Conservatory, where I focused on composing all different sorts of instrumental and vocal music for small and large ensembles, including orchestral music, piano ragtime, and electronic works.
I have also remained active around Boston as a drummer, and multi-instrumentalist improviser, playing in such wide-ranging situations as Italian pop orchestra Tredici Bacci, noise rock bands, quiet chamber free improvisation, and as a guitarist and singer in folk music groups.
I have experience teaching jazz drumming, improvisational drumming, and rock drumming from recordings, books, and more intuitive approaches as well. I love finding out as a team what a student wants to learn the most and shifting the focus accordingly, while maintaining a healthy degree of focus on fundamentals and technique.
I have a sustained interest in many other styles of music and making them, including contemporary classical music, free improvised music, jazz, folk music, and pop music of various forms. I love talking and working on the craft of specifically stylized forms of music, so as to uncover what is special about them, what can be emulated, and what can be built upon. My time at the conservatory has only helped to open my taste and broaden my horizons to treat all styles and genres of music as equally serious and important to investigate.

Steve began the drums at 11 years old. Soon to be inspired by the Beatles...classic rock, Buddy Rich..big band, Brubeck, Miles, Billy Cobham, Pert, Paice... and the list goes on.
He began his teaching career at The Natick Music Studio and The Eli Rabkin Drum Studio at the age of 16. He has spent a considerable amount of time touring and traveling.
He was taught by West/East Coast studio & band drummer Eli Rabkin of Framingham.
Steve currently performs locally, records & teaches
Steve is a private teacher and travels to his students. He accepts students as young as 7 years old. Student enrollment limited.
