About Me

In the 20 years I've been playing guitar and drums, I've done quite a bit. In the past, I toured quite extensively with my band, playing with the likes of All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, blessthefall, Alesana, Soulfly and many others (for all you metal and post hardcore fans). I've been teaching independently since 2002 and with music store affiliation since 2006. I've also played countless corporate events and weddings as a pickup musician with Murray Hill Talent in Boston. As the experience piles on, so do the real world inspired lessons and tips.

*** Lesson Details ***
First lessons are highly variable depending on a students experience. If you've never played an instrument before, expect the first day to be a lot of talking. While there will be plenty to take in, it won't be overwhelming. I like to think that I have a pretty good student saturation point gauge. If you've been playing for 10 years, we will start by establishing what you know, what your perceived weaknesses are and where you want your playing to go. Do you want to be an expansive lead player or are you just looking to learn a few drum grooves that are beyond your skill level? That kind of thing. At any rate, after a few months (given that you've done your homework outside of lessons) you'll find that you know more about music and are learning new musical concepts on your instrument regardless of your skill level.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, VHT classic 6 amp, BOSS ME-70, JOYO Vintage Overdrive, JOYO US Dream, various other stomp boxes, electronic drum kit, drum pad in snare basket, Yamaha F series acoustic guitar, Squier Showmaster, Squier J Bass, ipad (for recording and amplification), Trivoli Audio stereo system

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide my own guitar and a full size acoustic guitar if need be for very beginning guitar students. The same applies for bass guitar and hand drums for drummers. A drum set player must be able to provide a drum kit. Music stands are a plus but not entirely necessary if an equivalent surface is present

*** Specialties ***
rock, pop, progressive rock and metal, alternative, punk, heavy metal, post hardcore, metalcore, swing jazz, bebop jazz, fusion, ska, reggae, funk

About Me

I was born in Argentina. I began playing bass when I was ten years old, while my younger brother began playing drums. I started taking bass classes, and also formed several bands as a bass player, although the drums had always been sounding in the back of my head. After listening to Tool’s Danny Carey and Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, at the age of 17, I realized the drums were my true love, and began studying the instrument. I continued playing bass in several bands, until I joined the band The Evenfall as a drummer, in 2009. At this time, my family was considering moving to the U.S, and that's when I got the chance to apply to the Berklee College of Music. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2012 with a degree in Drumset Performance. There I studied with the most respected drummers and teachers in the world, and learned not only from their way of playing, but also from their style of teaching. I have a curriculum which includes material learned from all my years as Berklee, as well as material I acquired in my own experience performing and recording with many acts and in many different genres, ranging from Rock and Metal, to Latin and Jazz, and even Musical Theater.

*** Lesson Details ***
I custom make my lessons to fit each of my student's needs and goals. If you want to study Metal drumming, I won't aim my lessons to teach the same material I teach to a student who wants to learn Latin music, or Jazz. Music is never ending, and different music affects each person differently. Also, every person has a different voice in their instrument. That's why what works for what some people doesn't do it for others. I focus on what is important to YOU, and what better suits your interests.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I could provide the students with sticks and the materials to work on. I would expect the students to provide the necessary books when needed. A drumset is not required for beginners, although it will be for more advanced students.

*** Specialties ***
My teaching method focuses on the interest of the student. I try to have my classes follow each student's own interest and goals, and guide them on the best possible ways to help them achieve those. I try to present short term goals for my students, to ensure that they can experience a feeling on success that will keep them motivated. I specialize in Rock and Pop music, as well as Latin music (Brazilian and Afro-Caribbean in particular).

About Me

I'm a very friendly and easygoing instructor. My philosophy in teaching music is to show the student musical elements that can be put into practice right away, which can be used in a context to have a solid reference of the progress made.

*** Lesson Details ***
I strongly believe that in a learning process it is essential to experience results so that the motivation is there from the start. That is not to say that thing come easily to us, everything takes time and effort, but it is very positive to learn in ways where we can apply what we have learned to real life right away. This also goes hand in hand with spending the right amount of time practicing and studying, I put a very strong emphasis on this and I make sure the student is always understanding and advancing. For that, I strive to build a strong relationship with the student so the learning process is solid and continuous, I want to make sure the student is always learning and growing as a musician. And of course, have fun! That's the ultimate goal when doing music, bringing joy to your life and the life of others, that is the most rewarding feeling you can experience with music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room. All instruments including a piano, guitars, and drum set. Ample seating.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Me: Percussion, piano, books, audiovisual material, basic recording equipment.

Students: Their own instruments. Except for piano and percussion if they don't own it.

*** Specialties ***
I usually tailor my lessons to the needs and level of the students. I like to make it very interactive, especially for the younger students. We start with a particular style, genre or song that they are interested in and I build my classes from there eventually introducing other topics and techniques that are necessary for their development. I do this to engage them right away in the subject and make it enjoyable. This is very particularly important with the very young ones.

About Me

Hello! I am a professional working drummer with over 20 years of performing and teaching experience. My current band, Eight To The Bar, has been the winner of Best Band Connecticut for the past 5 years straight. We perform internationally in many venues, including festivals, casinos, and concert halls. The repertoire is diverse and challenging, drawing on the traditions of R&B, Swing and Motown.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons with me will be fun and constructive. I gear my lesson plan to your indivdual needs with a strong focus on fundamental technique, proper grip and stroke as well as helping you find your balance and relaxation behind the kit through posture and ergonomic set- up.

We will be able to explore the techniques of your favorite drummers. Through my wide range of experience I will be able to give you the skills necessary to function within your favorite genre of music. At the same time, I may introduce you to some forms of music less familiar to you. You can then use that experience to bring a fresh approach to your chosen style.

The name of the game is time-keeping and time feel. You will be expected to practice with a metronome, but also with recorded tracks. We will record your playing and listen back. This is one of the best ways to improve your playing.

Double bass and/or double pedal also taught as well as left foot clave, Latin percussion, piano, and music theory.

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching style is relaxed and supportive while always aiming to increase the knowledge of the student. My strong technical background combined with a deep sense for wide-ranging musical styles allows me to find what inspires a student initially and use their interests and strengths to lead them to new discovery and technical efficiency.

While I hope to facilitate a passion for making music in my students in any way possible, I continue to relate their training to body awareness and building good playing habits.

While each individual learns at a different pace, I strive to point out the progress my students have made because I find this recognition of achievement, no matter how small, is essential in a student's continued love of studying music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
lessons in dedicated music room with all instruments and equipment; upright piano, drum set and percussion.
