I've been playing Flute for 34 years, teaching Flute for 20 years and my students have gone on to Music Degrees. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to learn how to make a good sound and as time goes on you'll be able to play Christmas Music. I have taught flute to children and adults over the years; some have gone on to have careers, musically, while others play purely out of enjoyment. I think performing is something that is good to at least try, so I have all my students participate in a yearly recital and I try to bring my students together at least once a year to play either duets, trios or flute choirs depending on how many students I have at the time.

Why and how did I get into taking harp lessons? Well, as a young girl, I remember being mystified by the harp in Fantasia and when I was in high school, my dad found a teacher. After the first lesson, I was hooked and the rest is history! My 10 years of piano study and 8 years of flute background helped me advance quickly at the harp while starting at the age of 16. I began my higher education at Penn State University where I entered as a flute major because I was not quite at the advanced level of harp that was required at the college level. However, after playing principal harp with the Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble, I realized harp to be my true calling and switched my major instrument.
