As an elementary school teacher, I worked with children who were behind grade level. As a result, I have been trained to teach social studies and science, while keeping my students engaged. At the present time, I work with first through sixth grade special education children along with children who are behind grade level and help them with language arts and mathematics. I strive to use encouragement and positive reinforcement to help promote the learning process. In addition, I utilize manipulatives to help children understand mathematical and numerical concepts as well as reciprocal teaching to teach expository text within social studies and science courses. I believe that children need to experience literature in a positive way that demonstrates the power of a great book! I have worked with a variety of students that are still acquiring the english language and thoroughly enjoy working with children and adults who are learning english. I also have my CLAD.
I also love to cook and can help you learn how to cook fast, nutritious, and delicious meals for yourself and for your family.
Sewing is a becoming a lost art and I can help you learn how to sew a dress or a blouse!

I uncovered my love for teaching a few years after college. By showing and helping others develop their own abilities, keeps my own skills strong.
It was through the Theater Arts department at San Francisco State University and performing in countless equidy waver shows up north and here in Los Angeles that I knew I could coach.
Seeing where someone gets stupmed and working towards a solution can be simple with the right amount of trust and commitment. Thats my aim with a student, pushing past the obstacles and helping them find their own ability.
Its great fun and exciting to see the growth.
