Have taught private bass students for over 30 years.
I have extensive experience working both with gifted and special needs students (those with ADHD and autism).
I take pride helping students of all ages achieve their music goals, whether it be to shred solos in front of a packed house or play intimate songs for close friends. When teaching young people (ages 7 to 18) I do everything I can to get them passionate about their instrument. There is no greater motivator than fascination. I get kids playing real songs within a few lessons. If a student can play along to their favorite Green Day song within a few weeks, they feel like they can do anything. I skip past the "Mary Had a Little Lamb" phase that puts off so many future rock stars and go straight to the real deal: strumming, solos, and songs. When I teach adults, I identify your goals and create detailed lesson plans to achieve those goals step by step. I strive to be clear, patient, and ...
I have studied the upright bass since elementary school and in private lessons. I was the bass section leader of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS) Philharmonic Orchestra, and have performed many times at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis. I have also played jazz, bluegrass, and other types of music on the upright bass.
I have experience working with elementary and middle school aged children in private lessons and larger orchestra settings as a bass section focus group leader, and would be willing to do group lessons for schools and youth orchestras as well.
I am from Minneapolis, am currently a student at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, with strong interests in the arts, music, nature, and science!

"It's been really exciting so far! Jordan has been so helpful, so knowledgeable. I could not have found a better instructor and I'm getting better and better every day."
"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
