I am Vasiliy M, Boston University School of Music recent Alumni (DMA in Composition). We live in Boston for seven years, since Fall 2002; before that time , we have lived in New York, where I was studying Composition at Mannes College, The New School For Music. I have received both BM, and MM degrees from Mannes in 1999, and 2001, respectively. Before an arrival to US, in 1994, I was studying Electric Bass performance on Jazz Department, and Classical Composition, at Moldova State Conservatory, from 1988 to 1993, respectively.
I was raised in the family, where music was an essential part of our life; my father, Grigoriy, before his retirement, was a military band trombone player, and, quite naturally, I was exposed to music, and encouraged to learn playing an instrument of my choice, from my early childhood.

I've been a full time professional musician for 13+ years and have toured all over the world performing with music icons like Chacka Khan, Beyonce, and many more. I have a lot of experience with many different styles of music and I love sharing this gift with anyone who's interested. My teaching philosophy is simple: Get students playing music! It's much easier to understand the nuts and bolts of music when put into the context of the music you like.

Originally from Mexico City, Mexico. Guitarist Guillermo O. start playing guitar at the age of nine. By age 15 he was performing punk and rock music. At age 17 he was accepted to the "Escuela Nacional De Musica" (UNAM) where he studied classical guitar. He has performed with famous comedian Eugenio Dervez in the biggest Stadium in Mexico. Guillermo also composed the music for several documentaries, and short movies. In 2003 he attended Berklee College of Music and graduated with a degree in Jazz Composition and Performance. Guillermo also composed the music for the original musical play "Beyond the Journey" . It was performed as a stage reading on 42nd Street in New York, NY in 2010. Guillermo has been working as a music teacher since 2005. He teaches private instruction and group and ensemble lessons as well as composition, harmony, sight reading and music theory.

I have been working with students of all ages for the past six years as a private and group lesson instructor, bandleader and clinician. At a summer camp in New York I would regularly have kids from other sections sitting in on my classes because of the creative and exciting learning environment that I create.

As a graduate of Berklee College of Music I have experienced every genre and teaching method. As a result I can shape my curriculum to the student's personal interests and preferred learning style. During lessons I take a solid foundation of music theory and technical practice and place it in context to modern musical examples, allowing students to understand the material on their own terms. I am patient, animated and I love what I do!

I've been playing the guitar for twenty-six years now, and I've been working as a guitar teacher for the last twenty years. I've been making a living as a guitar teacher in the Boston area for fourteen years now, and I teach in two locations - Brighton and Dedham. Prior to that I also taught at Guitar Attention Center in Springfield, Ohio while I was in college, where I graduated with honors at Wright State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications.
I've also played in a variety of original and cover bands, and have written a number of songs of my own. I'm working on recording these as instrumentals in my home studio.
I also play in a rock cover band called Element 78. We play out every weekend, and even on some Sundays. The singer and I have also started doing some acoustic shows on Sundays and Thursdays as well.

I started my musical journey as a kid in the elementary school band, in the low brass section. I picked up the guitar and the bass shortly thereafter. Since then, I've played guitar and bass professionally in a number of different styles, namely rock, jazz, blues, classical, and country. I've also earned a Bachelor's degree in music. I bring all that I have learned from these experiences, and my passion for music, to my teaching. My goal is to help you discover your voice on your instrument and for you to begin or continue to enjoy the process of learning music. I can help you reach your own goals and then exceed them. There is always more to learn and always room for improvement. I know this because I am a lifelong student of music myself.

Though he is only 24, Bob J has been playing drums professionally for close to a decade. He has a B.M. from the New England Conservatory and a M.M. from McGill University in jazz performance. Valued for his versatility and strong sense of groove, he is quickly becoming one of the most in-demand sideman in the greater Boston area. His growing reputation in the Northeast has lead to performances with jazz legends such as Lee Kontiz and Dave Holland, as well as an international tour with a big band featuring George Garzone and Lenny Pickett. He also has a strong connection with the piano and writes music for various musical projects. He is currently a member of the house band at the Art Bar in Cambridge and leads his own group in NYC, Boston, and Montreal.

I am one of those individuals for whom teaching is just something that I have to do. I started giving music lessons sometime in the 80’s and have loved working with all levels of skill and experience. My students say that I am patient, adaptive and encouraging, committed to making music fun.

I have a Masters of Music from New England Conservatory in Jazz Piano and am comfortable and fluent in a number of musical styles, including pop, rock, gospel, traditional hymnody, jazz, and R&B. Although I love and study classical music, it is not something I teach at this point.

In addition to private lessons and performing, I do music transcription, workshops, and all forms of vocal and instrumental arranging. Having served as a church musician for more than 30 years, I currently co-lead the worship team at Life Church in Boston with my wife. George has been playing guitar and bass since 1994, teaching since 1999. He has been playing the drums and piano since 2000 and has been teaching since 2005. He is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He also has a Masters in Music from the illustrious Duquesne University. He has played and recorded on numerous recording sessions, has played and recorded internationally and maintains a steady pulse in the local music scene. George is also a professional recording engineer, so while not in a lesson he is usually recording, editing or mixing for other clients.

I have been a professional bassist for the the past eight years. I am a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music with a BA in bass performance. I have shared the stage with such names as J. Geils, Allison Krauss, James Montgomery, Mike Tucker, The Low Anthem, Mulatu Astatke, Grace Kelly, Sierra Hull and more. I have also been a faculty member of Salem State University's summer jazz program for the past 3 years. I have worked with students of all ages and levels of proficiency. With my education and experience I can offer you a great knowledge of music, theory and performance wise.

Music is my passion! It is involved in every detail of my life, everyday of my life! Therefore, being able to teach others the skills that I have been so lucky to possess, i believe, is a gift! Being extremely versatile and able to play a wide variety of instruments (guitar, bass, mandolin, trumpet, music theory, composition and recording) as well as being familiar and experienced with almost any kind of music you can think of, I am able to help any student get exactly what he wants out of every lesson. I believe that the next generation of musicians are so vitally important to the continued creation of incredible music, music that changes the world!
