I am the drummer & percussionist for Juno Award-winning, Canadian band, The Paperboys, touring regularly in Europe as well as the US and Canada. I make my home in the historic Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, where I teach drummers of all ages. A proud endorser of Istanbul Agop Cymbals and Protection Racket Drum Cases, I also perform regularly with several other local bands including Cordaviva, Sí Limón, and in musical theatre productions. My passion lies in creating, performing, experiencing, and teaching music of all styles. My greatest influences have been traveling, going to concerts, and listening to a lot of records during college.

EDUCATION:
Growing up in Southern California, I began taking private drum lessons at age 8 and continued through high school. Greetings everyone, my name is Simon. I am a drummer, percussionist, live performer, song writer, and music teacher. I have actively been playing musical instruments and live shows since the age of four. Growing up in a highly encouraged artistic musical environment provided me with a great love and passion for learning and playing music. As time went on I focused on learning instruments such as the guitar, bass guitar, piano, trumpet, French horn, voice/singing, various percussive instruments, steel drums, xylophone, and the drums. Currently I drum in a few different bands in the northwest area. I also offer my services as a session drummer for live performance and recording purposes. I'm a professional composer, teacher, and pianist - and I like to keep active doing all three throughout my community. My piano and composition lessons are very in-depth, but also very flexible. Because of my thorough knowledge and experience with music, I can teach all ages, skill levels, and an array of important subjects - including piano, ear-training, music theory, improvisation, composition, creativity, music history, ethnomusicology, and percussion. I cater to each student's interests as well as incorporate many of these subjects into my piano lessons so that every student gains a thorough understanding of music and becomes a well-rounded musician.
