Piano, Music Performance, Music Theory, Harp
I have ten years of experience working with students of all ages and levels. Many of my students have gone on to pursue music in universities, win competitions, or simply have enjoyed playing for fun and with friends with the skills they've learned from lessons. I tailor each of my lessons to the interests of my students. I have taught anything from classical pieces to pop songs in order to ensure the student is getting the skills they want out of lessons with me. I myself was classically trained at Temple University and Western Washington University, and I hold a Master's degree in performance. My passion is teaching, and I would love to share the fun of learning music with you!
Piano, Flute, Harp
I have a unique musical past that has led me to where I am today. I started playing piano at age 6, flute at age 10, and harp at age 16.
Why and how did I get into taking harp lessons? Well, I remember being mystified by the harp in Fantasia and when I was in high school, my dad found a teacher and after the first lesson, I was hooked!
I attended Penn State University and graduated in 2009 with a BA Music degree and concentration on harp. I stayed at Penn State for an additional year to complete a Professional Performance Certificate on the harp. I have been lucky to have played some of the best orchestral repertoire in some of the most amazing concert halls such as Carnegie Hall, Heinz Hall, and the Kimmel Center.
I am currently pursuing a Masters of Harp Performance at Temple University. I study with the principal harpist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Elizabeth Hainen. I will be done with my Masters in 2014 and after I plan to take orchestra auditions and teach!
