I love teaching, simply love teaching! I teach students of all ages. I teach piano, voice, clarinet, and saxophone. I have taught for over 25 years. My students have lots of opportunities for performance, if they choose to. We perform at Nursing Homes, Retirements, Festival of Trees, and Seasonal Recitals. There are at least 2 recitals a year, 1 at Christmas and 1 in the Spring, if enough participation, we often have one in summer with a party afterward. We also participate in the Michigan Music Association competition. I have also had students perform in Disney World in Florida!!! I have been in many musicals such as Annie, Gypsy, Rock Around the Clock. I have put on solo recitals. I am a member of my church choir. My students and I have fun while we are learning music! It is the best job ever.

I am a musician and teacher, and I believe both professions require people who are passionate about what they do, patient, and creative. I don't mean to sound cocky, but I feel that I score high on all three of those things. I've played and studied music for as long as I can remember, literally. From my teenage years until now I've been involved in a rock/pop band (The Great Fiction) who have recorded five albums, one of which was mixed by Michael Brauer, a mixer who has worked on a couple Coldplay records. Since a very young age I have loved to improvise and to create music. It is very satisfying to pass this on to others who are full of music inside but may not know how to let it out. Children don't learn to read before they can talk. So why should anyone have to read before they can play? That is how music is taught, traditionally and why a huge percentage of students just quit or have a miserable time with piano lessons. Music should be fun. Period.

I am happy to offer piano lessons for beginning to advanced students, and guitar and violin lessons for beginning to upper intermediate students. I teach music in all genres, including pop/rock, classical, ragtime, Broadway, country, jazz, and more - whatever you like best.

I encourage students to learn music they are interested in, and to have fun with lessons, while also making sure that they have strong sight-reading and ear training skills, and a solid classical background.

I have been singing and playing piano all of my life. I took my first music lesson I was just three years old I never looked back! After high school I earned my Bachelor of Music Performance and my Master of Music. I attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. It was in Louisiana where I began my teaching career, just over ten years ago.

After returning to Michigan, I began teaching K-12 music in both public and private school settings. I currently maintain a private studio in addition to teaching voice part-time at Oakland Community College and I teach piano through a community outreach program.

I have experience teaching both beginning and intermediate piano and beginning voice. I enjoy working with students of all ages and helping them develop as musicians. I am patient and understanding and believe that students need to feel comfortable with a teacher to optimize the learning experience.

I studied private piano into my high school years and studied organ and voice in college where I was a vocal soloist. I attended Concordia College, Ann Arbor, Mi and received my BA in Music Education from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa

I studied violin and piano at the Music High School and Music Academy of K.&G. Bacewicz, Lodz, Poland and earned a Master Degree in violin performance in 1980.

Brittiny is a classical and contemporary church pianist. She resides in Metro Detroit, Michigan. She is a very patient person who is dedicated to her students and focuses on accomplishing the needs and goals of her students. She likes to get to know her students interests and goals as well as their learning style in order to teach the most effectively. She has played the piano for ten years in church, for choirs and has worked as a piano teacher and vocal instructor.
