Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ 2013
Masters of Music in Viola Performance in progress at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA 2015
I began my music studies on the violin around the age of 7, studied for 10 years and then fell in love with viola in high school. I've been around the world performing--most recently traveling to the Isle of Man for the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition as a finalist to compete in the 2013 competition (this is one of the two international competitions in the world for viola!) Music has brought me to China four times--for study as well as performance. Last summer, music brought me to a festival in Italy and it was so beautiful! I frequently serve as principle violist in the various orchestras that I play with and before moving to Philadelphia this summer, I performed regularly in a string quartet. At 18, I performed William Walton's Viola Concerto with orchestra as a freshman in my my undergrad.
I have a lot of experience to draw on! I've been teaching privately since 2004 and I love to work with anyone who wants to learn. My lessons will revolve around you and what you want to achieve; they will be fun as well as challenging--but you can do it! With a little practice, you'll be playing beautifully and confidently in no time. If you are a beginner and have never played, or if you can play already and just want to be better, look no further! I am so excited to work with you and get you playing your best!

After a 26-year hiatus in the radio business, I'm back in the field I trained for in college. I graduated from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in music education, and taught for 6 years before trying radio on for size, so to speak. I also taught for 2 years in the early 1990's while between radio jobs. These days, I'm "getting back to my roots" in music!!
