Stefani's musical talents were first observed at the age of 5, when she began private study of piano and music theory. She played the alto saxophone for a brief period of 4 years during junior high and early high school, but then moved on to join the school choir at age 16. This choice led to the unexpected discovery of a beautiful, powerful voice. Stefani earned a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre at the University of Tulsa, with special studies in jazz vocals, ear training, and theory. Her college career provided her with intense studies in the vocal styles of Musical Theatre, Classical, and Jazz. She performed in many musicals, plays, and recitals at TU, and during each summer, she worked as a cast member of Light Opera Oklahoma. She was a featured vocalist with the TU Jazz Combo and Big Band, and she performed at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. Briana has studied various vocal genres under a wide variety of coaches: classical, chamber, and pop voice; musical theatre voice and jazz, soul, R&B, and gospel technique at McGill University in Montreal. Briana also spent 10 years studying the classical Suzuki method of piano under Phyllis Kranz (Dover, NH), which helped to develop her ear.

Briana is also a successful singer-songwriter. She developed the craft of songwriting while attending Phillips Exeter Academy, McGill University, and the University of New Hampshire, where Briana earned her Masters degree in English Literature. With a unique blend of blues, pop and soul, her immensely popular debut album GRANITE STATE (2009) led to a series of packed shows on the stages of the Sunset Strip, including House of Blues, Key Club and the Whiskey a Go Go. I have had a love for music since I was 3 years old. I used to walk around the house making up songs and knew that I would make music my life! I began playing classical piano at the age of 8 and continued to play through high school. I performed in many competitions, festivals and concerts and know the hard work it takes when learning an instrument and beginning that journey. After high school I went on to study Vocal Jazz Performance at the acclaimed University of Miami in Florida, where I received my BA. I had the wonderful opportunity to study and perform with jazz greats like Kevin Mahogany and Kurt Elling. I have extensive knowledge and experience in studio work, recording and voice technique and have been a professional singer/songwriter for years. I'm a patient, easy-going teacher who focuses on positive encouragement, confidence-building, and helping you become the kind of singer you want to be. With a wide vocal range, I can teach you everything from the basics of breath support & diction to more advanced skills like belting, wailing, and the correct way to 'scream' in modern rock music. All of this is done with particular focus on the health and safety of the vocal cords. I have nearly 20 years of vocal experience. I've performed in choirs, musical theater, and most consistently in modern rock bands.
